The pacing of this intro really gets me. You've got the big flashy opening bit, you've got the gods angrily proclaiming their punishment to Ulysses, setting the stakes of the series, and then you've got him reuniting with his son, letting us know that as much as the gods bluster and boast, he'd do it all over again. It's just so much emotion jam packed into less than a minute.

@@MephProduction Late 80s i was 9 or 10 year old, you'd have been about 4, id have thought you'd have been too young to remember it.

@@sharp78htdc61 i certainly remember watching it when i was about 8, i was quite surprised to learn it was made much earlier than that, must have been repeated then, or i'm mixing it up with a different show of that time.

Nobody has the balls to make a show like this anymore! I grieve for what we have lost as a culture today!

Everyone always talks about the Theme song, which is great. But has there ever been a darker, deeper more intelligent concept for a kids cartoon. I watched this every Thursday in the 80s and it made a huge impression on me, and sparked my lifeling love of greek mythology (Along with Jason and the Argonauts). This is one show i would love to see rebooted. Man i loved being a kid in the 80s

Man as a 16 year old I’m so glad my dad had a cd of this and I remember watching it all the time the theme song is just something else 👌

Quite possibly the coolest and in many ways the most 'adult' theme for a kids cartoon.

Oddly today the intro popped into my head for the first time in 40 years -- so popped over to KZbin to hear it. WOW --- Great intro, great cartoon. To be preteen again !

I see Star wars Rebels ripped of Ulysses swordgun.
@popkhorne53724 жыл бұрын
I mean combining light and a sword is combining two existing concepts already, and swordguns were a thing in our world. It just seems logical to mix sword and blaster.
