Thanks for the video! It was great to hear from you and get your updates! Life is life, and it's totally okay to try new things (I need to remind myself of that more often), so it's perfectly fine that you've made some changes and switched directions. You are amazing, and I love what you're doing! Your videos are so genuine, which is awesome, so THANK YOU! As for video ideas: 1 - Why the M11 isn't for you 2 - Your current daily camera 3 - Your latest inspirations in photography 4 - The world of photo exhibitions - how it works and your experience with it

Michael, thank you for the thoughtful message. These are great video ideas- you're right, I think talking about why the M11 wasn't for me might be an interesting video. I'm also considering doing the exhibit video once that happens in October as well. Cheers

I appreciate your effort in opening up and treat your audience with such proximity and respect. As an introvert is very inspiring to see you do such a brave act. Btw, your explanation of the state of street photography was spot on, it could be applied generally

Thanks for the video Ulysses, it has this sense of calmness that is really nice and serene. As to how am I, I’ve been struggling to answer this question for a couple of years now, since I live in Ukraine which is currently still being savagely attacked by russia. I’m glad you found yourself and embrace the change, I hope I’ll find myself too. Your photography is inspiring, thank you, Katarina

Well done! This is the path to wisdom!) It's a philosophical topic when your workplace finds you, instead of looking for yourself. It would be interesting to see new cameras, new lenses and photos taken with the inspiration that comes with new technology.

First of all, just want to let you know how much your videos helped me, I really appreciate your work! An idea of videos that I think suites well the direction you are going with your craft is something similar of what you did on my favourite video of your "this is how I work the scene". Abstract photography is a difficult topic and I don't see much content going deep on it. It is(at least for me) difficult to notice and difficult to get good results, as a slightly different angle for exanple could be the difference between an outstanding image and a "meh" one. Anyways, thanks for the fishes, I hope you find a good path for your life and for your content :)

I can relate to a lot you're saying. I started in january with street photography, thinking I HAVE to do that to have fun. It's just not for me, and I have since searched for what kind of photography I want to do, if at all. I've come to the conclusion that "less people = better", and tried to capture more "liminal place" type vibes, with focusing on atmosphere instead of subjects really. I also have the ability to spend a lot of money when I don't have to, having just gotten an xt5 lol Looking forward to whatever content you're producing in the future, yours have always been some of my favourite videos.

Going through a similar phase too. I closed up my cafe just as the pandemic was waning and went on to focus more on wedding photography again. But now, I've come full circle and re-opened my coffee shop again and slowly backing away from wedding photography as it have felt like I was no longer photographing for myself and what I really want and it's just been eating away at the joy of photography.

Just wanted to say, being an introvert that has deep dived into a passion of theirs to the exclusion of new friendships is in no way toxic. It's just how some poeple get (introverted non-hyper ADHD me included) and isn't usually malicious. You were just focussed from what I can see following along for a good while. Love the focus on art and from the sounds of it more abstraction, and looking foward to see where you go with it. Hope we get to have a virtual walk around the exhibition with you when it's ready.

Good to see you and great you’re doing well. I think we as we age we all change specially as creatives as we find new avenues of interest. The most important is that you are happy in the direction you want to go in. I would certainly find it interesting to still hear about your creative processes and art. If that still includes some form of photography then its a bonus. Certainly learning about how you went about doing your exhibitions would be good. As you ask I am doing good and had changes in my life too since the pandemic by moving to live on a Greek island. Shame I had not heard about you selling your camera earlier as just bought an M11 today in fact as I had still been using my Q2. I hope I will like it otherwise will be selling like you are :-) Stay happy and creative and hope to see more great creative content from you.

Hi, Ulysses, Been following your work throughout the pandemic until now and this video resonated with me. Maybe because I myself am split between taking photography assignments and academic work with sustainability. Just wanted to give some encouraging words. You seem like an interesting person, and so, I find you are producing interesting work. Keep on keeping on, and if this youtube channel is not part of it, then whatevs, you will always keep doing good work, but maybe not in this medium. I find that professionally I am not at my best if I have to produce something that is not in-line with what my interests are at that point in life. Stay true to you, keep on with meaningful change and keep being an interesting bean. Take care, Justinas P.S. Feels weird commenting on a KZbin video.

A really thoughtful video and truly nice to hear thoughts on life and art, without prescriptions. I wish you well. One thought: as you do new or experimental work, perhaps you could select an image and talk through how and why you created it. Philosophically as well as technically. Thx!

You evolve as we all do. You are trying to do it on youtube and that is probably not easy. Kudos for putting yourself out there and sharing. Future videos: 1. Script them a bit, sorry but as you say a bit too ranty. 2. Do artist series a la Ulysses. Ever see Ted Forbes Artist series on his channel (Art of Photography)? he did a series on great photographers/artists… talk about them but in your own way and how they are inspiring you. You are unique and special and have a far different take than most and would be interesting to watch. 3. Talk about your process of your new images / what thoughts were provoked. I do like your new IG format of posting so a bit more into that process would be nice. I saw some ppl recommend gear vids etc. Would be interesting to see but these I get the feeling these are not what you are looking to make in this new process. If you are looking for this channel to pay your bills then by all means make gear vids, but it seems your job is enough and this is passion…maybe I am wrong… Do you, and it it’s off of youtube, fine, but don’t do something to please us, do it to please yourself or you will turn back into that self proclaimed not so nice person you mentioned during your vid. Good luck with the Exhibition. Best of luck.

You are interesting enough to see you without street photos. Good for you for skipping of chasing a rainbow unicorn. Everyone who spent time for street photography knows it is never going to be as main source of income. I have also lost my street mojo during pandemics and it hasn't come back. I switched to cycling, getting dog out. Still like to take photos regularly.

I, for one, don't need any more videos like "10 Tips" for so-and-so, or "How to..." whatever. I just like to see how others take their pictures. So perhaps just do videos like Nick Carver or James R Burns, where you just take us along for the ride as you do your thing, and without having too teach us anything. Cheers!

This video really touched me. I've just turned 20 and have been struggling with all the changes in my life, I've moved back to my home country to study, I've had to stop taking photographs to focus on them and I've had quite difficult emotional challenges in the last few months. Listening to you talk about how the changes have affected you was really interesting and reassuring. I've been following your work and videos pretty much from the start of this channel, so to see you evolve as I have over the last few years is really touching. Thank you for opening up to us and I look forward to continue following your artistic journey! Greetings from Switzerland
