Umarex Gauntlet - Loading, Shooting, & Review

Super easy to get serious power out of and modify. My gun out of the box shot 15.4s @ 754 FPS now after Halfhill engineering currently shoots 15.4s @ 920fps and can easily go higher with additional washers behind hammer spring and holds 1/2” @50yards. 22 cubic inch bottle gives me 120 shots per fill thanks to you telling me it was available and would fit. Upped the reg, and ported, mod to the valve and hammer spring all done with stock parts. Not a bad entry level gun. We needed this 30 years ago.👍 Nice video thank you. Hajimoto helped a lot of Gauntlet owners also by sharing knowledge like you do about this and other guns. A big thank you for that. It really helps this sport grow and that’s awesome.

I like the gun and still use it from time to time but straight out of the box it has a lot of issues from speed and power to loading pellets into the breach being very hard. However, the Nova Vista Liberty sold here in the USA by American Tactical has been everything the Gauntlet is and so much more. The cool thing is Hard Air Magazine and ATI has a promotional going on when I got my Liberty’s that gave you a 20% discount on the amazing air guns. Wooden stocked Liberty’s had a MSRP of 350 and Synthetic 300. The 20% off made both guns styles well under 300$ and out preform my Gauntlet in every way shape and form. We are so lucky to be into airguns at this time in the airgun world. Both the Gauntlet which I love and the Liberty which I love even more, would have cost us an arm and a leg 10 years ago. Both of these gun are an exceptional value for what the offer. The Liberty however is by far a better value out of the box and preformed as advertised, untouched, no mods, no adjustments. The Gauntlet had to have the valve turned down, port opened, regulator came factory @ 850 psi and was shooting 14.3s @ 766 FPS, a far cry from 900 advertised, and was adjusted to 1350 psi, other issues were addressed the the warranty department neglected and called custom work???to work properly like it should have from the box, but 45 minutes of repairs for everything mentioned gave me what I originally was promised and more. The gun will shoot! 15.4 grain pellets 1/2” groups @50yards and @ 920 FPS . The Liberty’s the better features and equal or better accuracy and use the same exact magazines which is a added bonus to owning both guns. Proud to own both and happy with the Gauntlet after modifying it to the way Umarex said it would be but wasn’t, still, worth the money and was easy to fix and fun to do. Maybe a new buyer of the Gauntlet will have better luck with it and the warranty department than I did, if not, I hope your handy at fixing them, if not, get the Liberty...in fact just get the Liberty and you will have a better gun with a lot better features and side lever cocking with 2 power settings and an externally adjustable regulator. That way when your ready to build a monster, then buy the Gauntlet and modify the daylights out of it and have fun with it...that’s what it’s all supposed to be about anyway right?

the only benefit I see over my break barrel is the bolt action repeating fire though I think I'm going to be looking more towards the Umarex hammer 700 possibly even 800 foot pounds at the muzzle though that I'll probably be a next year purchase.

No comparison in accuracy between a PCP and a springer. Also much easier to shoot.

Man I just unboxed my gauntlets and I couldn't get the magazine in right so I thought I'd look on KZbin and I'm sorry to say buddy I'm going to probably buy a tank from you but that magazine segment... little bit you did there didn't really enlighten me very much but thanks anyway. So I put the magazine in and then the bolt just won't slide forward... that's pretty much what's going on
