Umarex origin leaking air...already!?

Umarex origin .22 cal leaking air from the fill probe with around 500 pellets/slugs through it. stay with us as we keep track of our experiences to get this rifle fixed!
After looking into the owners manual we did see that Umarex warranties this gun for three years. Let's see how long the process takes!

The fill probe with built in check valve is under $5. You can get them from any paintball store or online. Takes about a minute to replace it. No big deal.

Hello everybody! 👋 we just wanted to report our experiences with Umarex and returning the origin and it was not a problem at all 👌 so for anybody else experiencing any issues with your origin don't hesitate to reach out to the company. They stand by the 3 year warranty provided no problem. Also we will do a updated video, also 2 new air rifles to show you all! 😁 one rifle is chambered in .22 the other .25

@@UmarexAir love my origin. It's a perfect first gun. Especially for us hand pumpers who've yet to invest in a compressor. I put about 700 rounds through mine in the first 3 days. I have no complaints about the gun, except the fill probe. They're a pain on any rifle. I'd love to see you go in the direction of a normal foster fitting in the future. I do understand it couldn't be setup like the Avenger due to the EPT system though. I tell anyone who will listen how great the Origin is and why they need one if they haven't ventured into PCP yet. @@upper-leftadventures721 did you need your original purchase receipt? And how long was the turnaround? I have a leak from the tank to the receiver and I'm hoping umarex will fix it very soon, I use the gun for hunting all summer long.

That’s what really good about buying at a store like academy , you could bring it back and exchange it hassle free , it’s also 299 plus tax for the Airgun and pump

I had the exact same problem. With 0 pressure I put a drop of gun oil down in it. Filled it up and no leak. Ben about 3 months now leak free. Not sure how long it will last but seems to be working pretty good have it at 3500 psi holding steady.

I asked a guestion on the umarex origin facebook page. it seems that the gun must be cocked to take pressure off of the hammer spring while filling or it can leak at the fill port. You can also back the hammer spring pressure off a bit to maybe prevent this. I don't really know.

Hey thanks for the input! So I just went and did both of those, backed off the hammer spring to its factory setting and made sure the rifle was cocked, still the same result when the fill probe is removed. 🤷‍♂️

I had the same issue is the fill probe, lube the o rings with silicone grease I use dielectric grease just a little.

I just exchanged mine at academy. Started leaking after 9 days. 150ish pellets thru it. Tried rapid degassing, rapid empty firing 20 shots. Didn't work. Used lube in fill port, nothing. Hope it doesn't happen to this one. 🤞🏼

I'd assume it should be fine. If all else umarex will take care of you they stand by their product.

I did not, however we decided to go with Seneca aspen and bought 2 One in .22 the other .25 😁 and about your umarex origin leaking I have had people suggest looking at the fill port O-rings.

How many times estimated have you pumped it since you've gotten it

That's a hard guess but I've probably filled the gun about 25-30 times, but I also only shoot it down to about 1700psi so it's about 60ish pumps to fill it back up. And the pump needs rebuilding also lol 🙃😆 I also take full responsibility for letting the hand pump get too warm when I didn't know any better...but still seemed like a short life to me 🤷‍♂️

I'm probably close to 1600-1800 shots through the gun estimated since I've gotten it. I'm just hoping I'm not setting up for the big let down because I too have had no complaints so far.

@@TheRosslouviere from my reading they stand by the provided 3year warranty. Also from what I seen the only issues with the origins have been small and minor like ours. If there is problems along the way I will be sure to share in detail and keep everyone updated 😁

@@upper-leftadventures721 definitely appreciated! I'll be digging around as well, I have seen that it could be some debris stuck in in check valve in the fill port receiver. Perhaps degas it and see if there is a hair or thread or grass in there before sending it off

And I also tried cleaning out the fill port and probe with a fresh light coating of silicone grease and de-gased the rifle a couple different times still same result, I'm sure it's something very minor. In the meantime you enjoy your rifle and let us know what you think of it after even more lead is thrown out of it! 😁

I'm going top return mine, I got a little over 500 psi on it and the burst disk let loose. No way to get to the disk with out a really really skinny wall 10 mil wrench . Never got to run a pellet down it. Sucks.

Why do so many people celebrate and laud the warranty return part of this industry? “Oh, they were great to deal with”......... how about holding these manufacturers accountable for turning out so many airguns that leak SO soon for a change instead??

I don’t know why but I would buy airforce air guns cuz u can always get a new tank if it leaks or stop working plus they are more powerful

No, Im assuming just a O-ring. We ended up returning and getting 2 Seneca aspens one in .22 the other .25 😁 the built in pump will fit our style much better we decided.

Tighten the Degassing screw on the rifle...it will work then...look at the instruction manuel. That came with it..page 3. Theres nothing wrong with i thought the same ..youll see it works..
