For the S3, they updated the software until major bugs were fixed, then dropped all support thereafter. No security updates, and pretty unlikely they'll update to Android 10. If you want updates, get a Pixel.

This is going to be a tough call for me. I like almost everything I see, but wish they'd have made it a little bigger. I consider $333 for a mid-range phone to be on the expensive side. I'd expect a lot more than what Umidigi usually gives at that price. There is a lot of competition right now, a lot of it priced a lot of cheaper.

I have the Umidigi S3 Pro and has been real good. Long Battery and the P70 been fast enough. Glad they have a upgrade for the future

I upgraded from the original umidigi power to the s5 pro. The power was a good phone apart from a bad camera but the s5 pro is really good. The camera works well but I don’t actually believe the depth or macro cameras are genuinely 5 pixel.most budget devices have 2mp cameras for them. Maybe they use interpolation. I don’t know. Still a great phone though. Not disappointed 😀

No phone is perfect but for what its worth, this one is probably the most complete mid-range device. It's not too big, packs all relevant connectivity options, plenty (expandable) storage, AMOLED screen (no punch hole or notch), competent cameras (on paper), stereo speakers, huge battery, quality build, stock Android & enough horsepower to run anything in Android land.

Ive been a faithful umidigi buyer since they released the one pro. I then bought a f1 and now im using the f2. With the umidigi brand ubeats and ufit 3. In my honest opinion the f2 is still better than from what the s5. But we hsve yet to actually see whst it has to offer. If i know umidigi they always shoot for better than their last model.

Been using the Power 3 and love it, but because this phone has massive storage and expandable, and FINALLY a CPU that looks like it SHOULD support HD quality Netflix (no cheap budget phone you featured not named Samsung supported higher than 480p quality), I might just lock this in. Hoping Amazon preorders and same pricing too!

I like this phone on paper but the intro price is too high...$299 should be max. Can get a Redmi Note 8 pro global with the same chip, better cameras, bigger battery and better support for $100 less. I like Umidigi and have purchased quite a few of their phones with some varying results. They gotta do better price wise on this. I do, however, like the AMOLED panel, pop up selfie can and stock software. Is it enough to justify price difference?...I just don't think so especially given their past

The 256gb of storage does effect the price. Kind of wished they'd made a 128gb version and lowered the price, because I'll never use close to 256gb.

@@artdogg50 it's high even with the 256 which I agree is overkill. I want to be onboard for this phone but the competition is so stiff right now in that price range. You can get a Real me X2 for not much more or a Xiaomi Mi Note 10. I mean, there is no comparison between those phones. Now if Umidigi majorely stepped up their camera optimization, Id be right there with em. It's not about the MTK chip. The G90t is more than adequate. It's more Umi's inconsistent past with getting there products out and shipped. And delivering fully optimized phones given their potential

I've owned 2 umidigi phones Z2 and F1. The only problem is they never update there software especially there security patches. I've owned a Xiaomi Mi 9T and it's always updated. It was a android 9 now 10 and miui ¹0 now miui 11. My Xiaomi mi 9T guaranteed will be updated to android 11 while umidigi S5 pro will be outdated even though it's a newer model and will be stuck on Android 10 without any security patches. The cameras on Umidigi aren't the best neither and they're very shaky when video recording. Xiaomi mi 9T for a mid ranger smash alot of phones out the water with their camera. Persoally I would spend a little more for the fact the phone will last you alot longer due to updates. Without updates umidigi phones become unsafe. If your buying phones and need budget just stick with Xiaomi. Coming from someone who has owned both phones.

@@KevinBreeze haha! Fair enough. If you ever figure it out, edit the description please. Also, as a request, could you for your reviews of budget phones test HD playback? A much simpler way to do it is just install and open an app in the Play Store called "DRMInfo". If it shows L3 class under Widevine, that means that phone CANNOT stream HD Netflix or Amazon prime. If it shows L1, then it can. Very small request that I believe will help your reviews be more thorough! Look forward to your reviews of this phone! Thanks!

I hope the fingerprint sensor allows the user to sign into banking apps. This is another bug in their phones that they can't seem to resolve. What's the point of a fingerprint sensor if you can't use it to sign into apps...instead you have to enter your passwords all the time. I don't need an in-screen fingerprint sensor just to unlock my phone.. Get your act together Umidigi.

I have owned Umidigi devices before. The sound through bluetooth speakers is horrible...very muffled and low. I have found several bugs in Umidigi phones, so I think I'll pass on this one.

lasest2 I like the iPhone XR, it does what I need takes great 4K 60fps video and good pics. The F2 had terrible 1080P video, pics were great though. The iPhone XR has the same main shooter camera as iPhone 11. Just no telephone camera wick on iPhone 11 is not as good as main camera anyways. iPhone XR is just better optimized than F2. I did like my F2, mom just needed a replacement phone so gave it to her. The iPhone I have is a 128GB model.
