Hi Kevin, and congrats for your channel and accurate reviews. I own an Umidigi F2 and noted in your analysis that the word VIDEO appears clearly to the left of the word PHOTO in the camera mode, while in my phone there is no VIDEO word, just a very small green point that you have to touch if you want to enter this mode. Many youtubers have complained about this and I want to know if you made something special to see all the photo alternatives (the VIDEO word included) as you show in your review. Thanks!

Thank you for mentioning that an update came through. Pretty much every other review mentioned nothing of the firmware version or if there was an update. I know this because I shared the link to the update with them. Also when you do a review with the camera, can you do a comparison with the stock camera app and gcam? Gcam (gcamera) app usually unlocks better quality with the cameras. And lastly Verizon uses LTE bands 2,4,5, 13, 66, and 71. 4G LTE should work just fine. The only thing is the 3G which works on CDMA B05 I believe. If the phones 3G works on this as well then the user should be able to call Verizon and get this connected. Great video and keep up the good work with non flagship phones.

Thanks for the review. Other KZbin reviews of this phone point to issues with the camera software still (ie. no video stabilizer, strange pink tones in less-than-perfect lighting, etc..) -- it seems most are still hoping for more software updates to address this. The main comments were, even though initial shipments were delayed for 2 months, as of most recent reviews in late Jan/early Feb 2020 this phone is still not quite ready for prime-time use cause of bugs. One other reviewer here mentions concerns for lack of AR+ support for Pokemon Go, I also would like to know about this. You can also currently get the phone on eBay for $219 from Umidigi offical, shipped from US.

Kevin the phone works on Verizon network. I purchased this phone as a back up phone and I'm really satisfied with this phone. The only thing that bothers me is I hate seeing the battery percentage at top on the screen. If you or anyone that has this phone know how to turn this off, please let me know.

so far it's impressive. i have the F1 so i'd like to see a comparison between the F1 and F2 including outside camera pics and also the F2 and the galaxy A51. does the F2 have a photo galary as the F1 didn't. I'm either going to be getting the f2 or A51. thats why i want to see comparisons between them. also your review of the F2 you're going to do next. Also is there an online Manual for the F2. The F1 doesn't have one now which would be really helpful. Anyway i'm looking forward to those reviews and comparisons. You and Tech Right do great reviews on phones.

i really liked the F1 when i first got it but it started malfunctioning after that. It didn't have Smart switch as it's not compatible with it. I finally got the Galaxy A71 and finally got things transferred over to it from the F1. Got help from Samsung. I love this phone and its way better than the F1 ever was. Happy i made the switch to it.

Got it for my gf off aliExpress at $174 ...and she loves it --- Same blue colour. Bigger than my s3 pro and that wide-angle camera is a must on phones going forward. Hole punch on the f2 makes viewing stuff "WOW", She loves it for all that it brings to the table for her heavy phone usage: big battery, fast charging, lots of screen real estate, cameras, lots of memory and storage and for a great price. s3 pro has a better (braided) charging cable and nicer weight due to the ceramic but she says the weight of the phone is egevy enuff to notice u don't have it but not too light like other phones.

Thank you for the review. As a former user of an F1 Play, the lack of any current updates has soured the user experience for me. Stopped using it and went back to my Essential Phone PH1 that is running android 10 with monthly updates still being pushed out.

Cool phone, The best fingerprint sensor was on my LGV 20. Right on the back where my finger would be when I pick it up. I do like my iPhone Xr face unlock feature.

Using an umidigi one pro at the moment which has a side power button/ finger print sensor and yeah definitely works. I've owned a few umidigi phones before starting with the umi super all I've owned had been good with the only niggle would have been the cameras but with the one pro I'm using its spot on really is. Also up dates could be more regular not had one now for probably 8 months overall though great phones for the money . Also umidigi one pro has wireless charging and nfc which is so good that next phone I get will have to have it good first impressions video buddy well done

I'd rather have an in-screen fingerprint sensor. It's better for all around use: holding the phone, when it's on a table, or in a car mount. But I do like side mounted ones too. I guess they couldn't use an in-screen one here bc it's not an amoled screen. Great job on this video, btw!

The blue colour is fantastic But unfortunately, the plastic cover is black instead of clear tpu and therefore defeats the purpose of the colour. Luckily clear TPU cases are available on AliExpress. With a black cover you might as well Just have a black phone Which is the only other colour available that I've seen? I use magicJack and WhatsApp applications, and I've noticed that if I make an outgoing call the earpiece will not activate, can only use spkr. But if I receive calls on those apps it does work. Using the Straight phone cellular service the earpiece works fine either way. Does anybody else experience this problem?

Por favor, tenho um Umidigi f2, a cerca de 6 meses. Vinha funcionando perfeitamente. A cerca de 30 dias o microfone parou de funcionar, escuto tudo de todos os aplicativos, só que ninguém me escuta. Esse problema eu vinha resolvendo tirando as permissões de tudo referente ao microfone, e agora nem assim consigo; Como fazer voltar ao normal...Antônio Carlos

There is no EIS for video. The Umidigi X has EIS and it is a less expensive phone...go figure!

Makes you wonder if Umidigi will grow. Like Realme, they start out as the underdog from 2018, to become a more recognizable brand in 2020. Hopefully, Umidigi will follow their path, and their phones will be available internationally by the end of 2020.

I just got mine a few days ago, well last Friday. So far no issues, except can't see battery usage. I haven't had any camera issues, the Macro and wide angle cameras are kind of useless, no option to tap to focus. The main 48mp camera works great for me. Did the updates, it mentioned something about nite mode, but i don't see option for nite mode??

I just received this phone, after waiting for 2 1/2 month's.....as soon as I turned it on it had an update waiting.....did the update and set the phone up....this phone has been nothing but problem's.....camera won't take pics....cant open any google search results.....low sounding speakers at times.....did a master reset and did not help.....seems like an unfinished phone......

I think the power 3 is better. I've had it for a couple days. No issues other than the usual poor rear camera. Altho the selfie camera is one of the best I've ever seen. No joke .

I have the Power 3 as well and no issues. I have seen other reviews and this one reviewer said the Power 3 is way better as far as stability compared to the F2. Sure the F2 issues will get resolved with updates like all their other phones.

Have you tried gesture navigation with the F2 yet? Android 10 on the MOTOROLA One Hyper is very intuitive. Was thinking of getting the Umidigi F2, but with all the problems I heard about with them filling orders made to decide to go with the MOTOROLA One Hyper.

Awesome phone. Just got my first Umidigi phone yesterday. Decided to go with the Power 3 which I love so far 😎 However, I tried to use the AR+ function in Pokemon Go and it's not available. Went to Google Play to install "Google Play Services for AR," but says incompatible. Even tried to install the APK and doesn't work as says needs ARcore update which just said incompatible again 😥 Are you able to get this app on any of your Umidigi phones? Thanks

I used to go Samsung all the way..tried a huawei P20 phone as a backup...I never liked it at all and being Sim only I thought about how much Samsung was robbing me every year or two..I've had an umidigi S3 pro since last year and it is awesome ..no issues at all and the same price as a used Galaxy S7 when I bought it..better battery top end camera higher ram+rom and came in better packaging the earphone jack means I can put my studio earphones on it and get big noise... Samsung I'm afraid are no longer getting a penny from me...next will be the Umidigi S4 pro or F3 for me and I may keep this phone as a backup or give it to my sister

like yourself I've had the umidigi F1 play which finally worked out well but this phone has a lot of issues please do a follow-up review I'm sure you will come up with the same conclusion that it's very unstable with a lot of issues. I'm ready to put it in the draw. And the only option I'm told this to reflash it which is way beyond my abilities

Re Fingerprint sensors, I'd *much* rather have them on the front of the device, "old school" style, like on the iPhone 6s, before they "advanced" to Face iD etc. I currently have a Sony L3 and it has a side mounted fingerprint sensor, which means I can *still* open my phone while it's lying flat on its back.. Makes perfect sense to me! 😉👍 I enjoy using my phone without having to pick it up. Any thing that involves a lesser amount of steps to get to the Home Screen. On that score, the newer Samsung phones look promising. I've never understood the popularity of Fingerprint Sensors on the backs of phones. It always means you have to pick it up to open it..but then, presumably that's what they want? 😉

How does the company do with keeping the security updates coming on the phones that you’ve had from them?

You'll get about 6 months to a year of updates. Once they move into the next generation of a phone you lose support outside of major bug fixes. (EDIT) Didn't see security in your question. Umidigi has a major problem with them. They may put one or two out if your lucky over the life of a phone, but you should expect to stay with whatever comes with the phone.

I just got the Power 3 yesterday and so far I'm loving it. Depends how much you want to spend. If you have the extra $50 to spend, go with the F2.

@@ThirdEyeGoat369 I chose the power because there is little difference between the 2. Battery is the selling point of this device especially the reverse charging feature. You can literally use it to charge your other phones thru type c. Its a power bank and phone in one.

Would be a good comparison I think. The Bold has gorilla glass, pop up camera and wireless charging, but this has a bigger screen, bigger battery and more camera options. But, I think the Bold is end of life, you can't buy it at their website or Amazon anymore. I hope that means they are coming out with something new for 2020.

They should hire you to do a commercial for them and not just for their reviews. Umidigi employees cannot speak proper English or being able to speak in a professional manner in any language for that matter. They need to invest in people who can do professional presentation.

This phone isn't ready for prime time. I won't return it, but I doubt I'll be buying another Umidigi phone.

@@KevinBreeze it started off pleasant. Loaded everything up and installed a mem card. After a while Facebook and FB messenger failed to launch, like it wasn't installed. Phone froze up and went black, so I rebooted it. Got into Android and it froze andwent black . I thought it died.

@@KevinBreeze I moved all apps back to the phone's storage and they launch now. The phone doesn't like things being stored on the microSD. It works for a while until it doesn't. It still show the card being installed, but u won't be able to use it until u restart. Oh yeah the fingerprint scanner is finicky.
