Otyken is an amazing undefinable band. They mix modern with traditional, achieving a perfect balance, IMO. Their music is very nature-centric and closely tied to their ancient culture. They have so many great songs now. And they are great live, too. I would check out Phenomenon, Storm and Belief. Their latest releases continue to be outstanding, too. Mammoth is their latest. The song "Oneness" was featured in a Japanese movie. They are growing in popularity and I predict they have the talent to make it big on the global scene, IMO. Oh, and they released a collaborative remix of their song "Bellief" with XZibit. Worth checking out too!

Thank you for reaction. 👍 Otyken [O-tu-k`en] is definitely one of the best Russian "modern folk" bands. Their texts are in Khakass, Chulym, Dolgan and Russian languages. Word "Otyken" in Chulym and other Turkic languages means - "a sacred land where warriors would lay down their arms and talk". Altay (region in south Siberia) is the hypotethical ancestral home of all Turkic languages tribes (peoples). Ummet Ozcan is a Dutch DJ and record producer of Turkish origin. Hello. Otyken or Ötüken is the capital city of the KökTürk or Göktürk Khaganate, which was the first Turkish Khaganate established with the name Turk. Ötüken is mentioned in the Turkish inscriptions found in Mongolia, known as the Orkhon inscriptions.
