jazz speaks a common language to millions of hearts in this present day. I am one those who would skip tracks in an album til I come across a track with insane instrumentation that melted me. then sorrow taught me how to listen and confide in jazz music. it evoked higher platform of mental awareness. It is so unbelievable that there is so much talent, creativity and artistry among the up and coming generation of black South Africans that are coming to the fore.It is so easy to relate to what is happening musically around. We the cats that have been in the fore front of the new thing for years gone by, have find an alternative opportunity to be part and parcel of the development of jazz as listeners and collectors. The one big mistake that I have realised, is poor marking and distribution of the CD's of local jazz artists. The internet and radio, though may reach a wide audience ,the local distribution need to be improved to make the hard copies available.
