I have a love hate relationship with this game due to that fact. Every Capcom made Marvel fighter has some scummy shit but this one specifically (as the most accessible one as of late) is the one that grinds my gears tbh. I’ll still play it because fuck, none of the other marvel games are on modern consoles and Infinite pissed me off enough that it’d have to be Sleeping Dogs levels of cheap for me to consider, but damn if this game doesn’t have hella problems.

my favorite fighting games are those that make everything broken af. Look at how many different characters are not just good but are played at the highest level. I enjoy that more than the games where its 1 team and everyone plays it, or its the same team with like 1 character change

@@limitedbom2206 well to be fair most of UMVC3 way back when had that same problem. Vergil/ Doom shells were meta and played to death. This tourney was definitely more diverse but before most pros played the same 10 characters and similar comps.

@@OseiTheWarriors well if you're referring to an early point in the game then yea I wouldn't be surprised, when a game is relatively young everyone plays the same stuff. It's no mortal kombat or anything but it gets pretty repetitive. However games like dbfz have been like that for 2ish years now where theres like 2 characters that everyone uses on their teams.

I don't think you can call assists when super jumping, that is another Chun Li is very good here because she can triple jump which is about the height of a super jump and she still gets to call an assist

This game is unfair but people have learned to adapt and thrive their own characters' niches. It really is stupid but the zany, unpredictable nature is why the game has so much longevity. UMVC3 is the third installment in a series yet it managed to last extremely long as it's own entity. Gotta love it.

So I’m curious. I’ve played Marvel 3 on PS4 for about 60 hours and I’ve never seen it run this fast. Could my TV’s refresh rate be a factor and this is how fast it’s supposed to look or is Marvel 3 on PC just running at a modded frame rate? Or are they just so fucking good at the game that they can move at faster rates than most players? (I’m betting on the 3rd theory tbh).

Uh this is an interesting question lmao. If you have no idea what plink and/or wave dashing is that could be it, since anyone at a top level is at LEAST wave dashing. Otherwise there is literally nothing different from the PC version from the consoles or anything special about what they're playing.

Even if your TV isn't effecting how fast the game looks to you, gaming monitors have a way better refresh for playing. Get something with 1ms delay and all of a sudden you can punish and hit confirm all sorts of stuff you just can't on a TV.

Chris kinda went off on how bad the netcode of DBFZ was even after he joined an online tournament knowing that, so that probably didn’t do him any favors. Justin lately hasn’t done anything with online tournaments (but idk if he has a specific reason for this one). I think Ryan had some kinda scandal recently? I could be misremembering.

@@paulakroy2635 She's top tier but she's not _the best_ character in game. She has exploitable weaknesses and a reputation, so she's targeted frequently. Virgil is more self sufficient and just as threatening with level 3 x factor. Zero > Morrigan > Virgil > Pheonix (I personally don't consider Pheonix top 5 but this is just in comparison to the other top tiers)

@@concamon1364 Yes exactly, top 3 characters is unanimously agreed to be Zero, Morrigan, Vergil. The next three I'd say would be Doom, Magneto, and Phoenix. Besides, individual tiers don't matter as much in a team fighter (I mean Chun is regarded as mid tier at best but here is Ryanlv making her look broken lol). In terms of anchor spot, Vergil > Phoenix for sure

It’s harder than you think. RyanLV is just really good. Also fill schedule dropped combos on Phoenix before she gets 5 meters.

Vergil and Zero are actually a lot more OP than Phoenix. If you watch high level marvel a lot, you'll notice that Phoenix is actually used infrequently (think UU in Pokemon Smogon :p). She will get snapped and die instantly if the player doesn't know how to use her at all, and RyanLV is far and ahead the best Chun/Morg/Phoenix player out there... so the math checks out
