I modded my plug to accept a 260mah battery, no need to really go larger, unless you want to

By far the BEST mod I have done to a plane!! Just wish I had your vid to help me out Fishy, would've helped big time, only difference is I didn't drill out a hole, I place my mags on top after cutting of a bit off the top, but everything else was the same, good instructional vid Fishy! & have fun slippin' & flyin'!

Nice work Fish. You are correct there are no videos to be found(other than yours). I'm going to hold off on this one myself. I tend to get shakey and would probably end up with a large hole in my Radian. So I'll be stuck dealing with the frustration of the micro screws. One thing I learned is it is very easy for the screws to slide inside the fuselage and get stuck on the magnet of the motor; which then resulted in having to break open the fuselage. The only flaw in this otherwise great plane are these god forsaken screws, but nothing as you say is perfect! I do have an 808 keychain camera en route from China so I'm going to mount it with some velcro. One idea I did have is to use the stick-on magnet inside the fuselage; then I would only need to drill the hole in the wing.

If we take a deep breath. you can takeout the plastic, not glued but I tell you one mistake you got not a perfect hold. So what can we do, Do they make those screws work String tie a string from one to the other, if you have to put a dab of glue to secure it, with it away from the plane and dry, then I guess we can as well pin it so if the screw drops it is hanging on the fuse. You really do not need the screws, the wing is not going to slide out. If you feel you have to have the wing secure. try a pin wing to fuse placed in, locked, pull pin out slide wing. I see the mod, but hard for me to explain

You make a good point. After the screws were stuck in the fuselage; I flew the plane anyways and the wing staid pretty stable. So I take extra care now and just put the screws in with care and deal with the minor nuisance.

some put washers on some taped and slotted holes. to keep screws in the shaft. that I look into as well

Thanks, fishy. Just found your video - great mod. - I'd have never thought of it. I received my UMX Radian today and after seeing how tiny the two screws are, I'm going to do your mod. I found the 3/16" x 1/16" magnets on eBay (for about twice what you probably paid for then), but that's not going to stop me. I plan to just drill enough out of the top of the plastic to slip the magnet into. After fitting, I'll glue it in. I wondered how I'd be able to find the correct two places to drill on the wing for the matching magnets and figured I'd just stick a toothpick through the plastic thing in the fuse into the wing and then drill there - that should line up the magnets perfectly. Your thoughts on my plan would be appreciated. Bobby

I just received my Radian today! How did your “drill in the plastic” MOD work out for you? I thought about that also whilest watching him in this video. I thought he was going to just slip the magnets into the plastic but the…..the whole plastic part was out of the plane! Lol Would you recommend the 3/16 x 1/16 or maybe a smaller diameter to be able to fit into the plastic? Thanks in advance! Art-n-Kiko

Excuse my impatience (searching through your video) but…what is this magnet modification supposed to accomplish?
@fishycomics4 жыл бұрын
modifies the wing so it stays secure then the screw, locks it in place, by grabbing it, a quicker place on and off. I can be up flying in a few seconds, while you're screwing on the first one.

@@fishycomics Is the screw not secure enough? I'm getting my 1st plane, The Radian in 2 days!

@@fishycomics Good idea! Now that I have my plane, I see WHY you’d want that mod! Already dropped the screw in the cockpit and it stuck to the motor magnet. So, I had to untape the fuselage to get it out. So…Thank you for the great idea! Ps. When I clicked on ur ebay tab it came up as an “Error Page” "www.ebay.com/itm/310981720413?…” Would you mind sending me the magnet specs or link that works? Thanks again! Art-n-Kiko

Easier option I used was to place a strip of Scotch tape, 1/2 the strip on the fuselage, the other 1/2 on the wing, from leading edge to trailing edge, doing this on top and bottom of wing. There is NO movement at all and no real weight gain. George.
