The dash has nothing really to do with the ecm except for displaying information so the dash can easily have been plugged out while riding or changed out to get a different mileage/hour count. The reason why I know this is because I bought a sled from some slightly sketchy people and I did alot of research about the subject since it felt a little bit suspicious. Anyhow, good work with this project! :)

Thank you! I wasn’t sure if ECM stored mileage or not. That clarify’s. So this definitely has been messed with. By the track wear 670 KM is not accurate… Thank you!

@@Schneids15 I noticed this as well, I bought a used 18' 1200 and when I got it home I started to remove the hood to check it further and noticed the cluster had a tape on it saying the cluster was changed at 8400km on January 2nd 2019, so I called the dealer and asked about the sled and they told me that sled had a 36 month extended warranty so more than likely a new cluster was put in on warranty and the new cluster always starts at zero kilometers hence why we always put a tape on the back of the new cluster with the mileage and the date it was changed, so they told me to get total mileage add the current mileage and mileage written on the back of the cluster. So here I am thinking I bought a sled with 12000kms but I ended up buying a sled with 20k on it instead of 12k. I also brought it to shop who hooked it up to BUDS and it showed the same mileage as the cluster(12k) but the engine hours on the ECM were showing 383hours. So to me since its a trail sled, if you divide 20000km/383 engine hours = 52 km/h average speed where as if you divide 12000 km / 383h = 31.33km/h average speed, not really fast for a trail machine, so I think 20k is the right mileage. Luckily its 4 stroke and not 2 stroke but live and learn.

@johnchaters8680 hmmmmm. Thanks for the comment. I thought so too. He told him it had 6xxx on it and then the dash was replaced then. I think that was honesty on the sellers part. No way this sled has 600K

I've put used picks on a new sled if that's the only sign of wear, perhaps they did the same

Great point. Could be a possibility. I think he did tell me in the end the previous owner did say it had about 6500 when they replaced the dash. Either way it was fishy.

My clutch side cradle is cracked right below the top bolt in the front. Will probably try to replace it. In your opinion, the motor definitely needs to come out?? Was hoping not to have to pull it...
@Schneids158 ай бұрын
You may be able to get away with it. I was trying to remember why it had to come out. There was a reason. However i bet it can be done in there.

Have to watch it again in more detail, but looks like the new module came with a door and screws? Interested in selling the old door and screws for the drain plug?

I think my 2015 gsx se 1200 will need a new s module , as it hit a stump and it bent the upper left a-arm, cracked the pto side motor mounts, and destroyed the LH ski pretty good. How long did it take to replace the s-mod and what did it cost to replace?

Hey, so your biggest thing is going to be changing the PTO side motor mount. If it wasn’t for the motor mount we could have done the job without removing the engine i am sure. We never took a hourly time and just went slowly at it. For one guy i bet it would take 2 full days of steady work to get it done.
