The United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention shares its preliminary observations on situations where people are deprived of liberty in Canada, such as prisons, police stations and youth detention centres. The delegation has been visiting since May 13, with stops in Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia and Alberta, and will present its final report to the UN Human Rights Council on September 25.
