UN Peacekeeping: A commitment to peace

United Nations - The need for UN Peacekeeping has never been greater. Today’s UN Peacekeeping missions are unprecedented in scale of operation and scope of mandates with over 125,000 peacekeepers deployed in four continents.
Recognizing the importance of UN Peacekeeping to international peace and security, on 28 September 2015 the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and U.S. President Barack Obama join over 50 heads of state and government representatives to announce significant new contributions.
The Leaders’ Summit on Peacekeeping is co-chaired by Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Japan, The Netherlands, Pakistan, Rwanda, Uruguay and the United States.

That's the whole point so people don't shoot them to avoid larger conflicts cause if a peacekeeper gets killed the US gets more involved same with the rest of the international community.

God bless UN peacekeepers! There are so many ready to complain but what would Mali, the Central African Republic, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo look like without peacekeepers? These troops are absolutely essential, and the world must double-down and provide the resources necessary to continue building peace. Thank you United Nations!

Son of my Father They deploy to societal hot zones were social instability and fighting is prominent. Peace keepers are deployed to these areas to help these local human sectors start the process of rebuilding by providing police activity, training local law enforcement officials, rebuild infrastructure, provide humanitarian aid, medical assistance, and clearing potential IEDs from civilian occupied areas.

Fun fact: the U.S. only deploys 80 peace keepers as of right now they obviously need to step up their game, I mean, look at Bangladesh with 9,432 peacekeepers. WHY YOU NO HAVE PEACEKEEPERS U.S.‽

+that_pac12 Agreed, if I could volunteer to be a peacekeeper I would. To be completely fair, the US does pay 28% of the peacekeeping budget, but it should definitely offer more troops as well. It's really much better for them to be able to rely on the UN in global trouble spots rather than to act on their own anyway.

Because poor countries are offered way more slots, than richer countries. The thing is, you get paid by the UN to have peacekeepers. That is why poor countries have way more slots. They get money to develop themselves, because rich countries do not need that money as much.

Thank you for posting this, I hope it will help to raise awareness about the role played by peacekeeping operations in today's conflicts. And I hope that world leaders, particularly in the developed world, will recognise their responsibility to supply missions with the troops, resources and oversight that they need to be effective. (I also thought the music on this video was a little over-the-top, maybe that's just me. :) )

Every nation should have to give army to united nations force according to his population or 1% of his army compulsary to un force. And un force in a country should have army personal of every country except home country army personel.
