Santa Leticia is a selectora that spins old and new music from dreamy lands where the sun shines brightly. Andalusian by origin and based in Newcastle upon Tyne (UK), Leticia mainly collects records from tropical and Mediterranean climates. Find her on Radio Alhara with her monthly show "Dig A Bit Further", and on Newcastle's Slack’s Radio, where she hosts “Un Rayo de Sol". She is the co-founder of Rainforest Disco, a regular vinyl-only party in the North East of England where she spins Caribbean, Brazilian, Latin American, African wax and beyond. In her sets, expect psychedelic, raw, and soulful music; spacey-echoey organs and fuzzy guitars, groovy accordions and hot tambores - sounds that inspire alegría, Lamento and Fuego.

@@svobodasimon1185 thanks for your question, you have a keen eye! Let's start with chorizo. If you look a little closer, I said, "[She] is my favourite Spanish DJ of all time... Chorizo is probably my favourite Spanish sausage." If you were as well-versed in Spanish culture as I, you would know that chorizo is, in fact, the quintessential Spanish sausage. The comparison alone is a hard win. But then... then I added the word 'probably'. That's when I took it to the next level. Now I'm saying: "Sure, Chorizo is almost surely my most favoured but this DJ is definitely. Yes, more definitely than delicious chorizo." I am informing the casual viewer that, yes, they can rest assured that, not only is this performance going to be of high quality but also, as culturally significant as the Spanish national sausage. Your other question, asked how I know that the subject is indeed of Spanish heritage at all. To that, I reply, look to the eyebrows, sir! Thick enough to hide a chorizo crumb or 2 I'm sure. If you look in the mirror, you should see that your cheeks are the colour of a freshly sliced chorizo.
