Un uomo da bruciare. Gianfranco Intra

Salvatore (Gian Maria Volonté), a young Marxist-inspired trade union activist, returns to his hometown in Sicily. In Rome he leaves a tempting life and a passionate relationship. In the small island town he proposes to lead his fellow villagers in the forced occupation of a property, in contrast with the mafia, decidedly opposed to the enterprise. His companions in faith and in action soon allow themselves to be intimidated and give up the fight. Salvatore uses every means to shake his followers, even going so far as to double-cross the mafia. However, they soon discovers Salvatore's true intentions.
For eight years, Gianfranco Intra studied the piano. Moreover, he successfully finished the conducting course at the Milan Conservatory. Although he had been the piano player in an amateur orchestra at age fifteen, he effectively started his career as a professional musician in 1951, when he joined the Menestrelli del Jazz, replacing pianist Giampiero Boneschi. Amongst the other group members were Fausto Papetti (saxophone) and Ezio Leoni (accordion). In this film Carmen Villani sings "A tomorrow for us", with music by Gianfranco Intra and lyrics by Federico Monti Arduini.
