I use 1 cup of ammonia in a garage bag( large) to hold oven racks. Tie it up. Put it outside- over night. Rinse the next day. It works well.

Weird idea I had when I got my steam mop recently wanted to use it on everything, it took off 90% of the grime from the floor of my oven and completely cleaned the glass door easily

Don't you have to wipe with fresh water to get the ammonia residue off before you use it to bake again????

I wonder if this would also be effective with vinegear/dish soap mix? I have not yet tried it to clean my oven, but it does seem to be very effective for many things. And the paper towels and cling wrap would help keep things moist while it is working. 🤔

I love your video! May I suggest that you try to record voice overs for your videos, so you don't have to talk and clean, lol! Maybe that's not your style though

But, will the heat within your oven circulate the ammonia and make an aerosol of it? I had to ask, because ammonia in very dangerous!

the dose makes the poison. She's not touching it and it's ventilated. Most "natural" cleaners are just as toxic, just in different ways. Kids are getting sensitized at record numbers due to overuse of essential oils. I PERSONALLY am allergic to lavender.

Do you keep the oven door open for the 8 hours? Or can you close it up?

Wouldn't it be easier to take out the burner first to clean it out? That way you can get at it better.

Use engine degreaser from the auto supply store. But to keep the wall from getting spattered in the first place, I tape up some aluminum foil. (Fasten with masking tape, the premium easy-to-remove kind, so you don't wreck the paint.)

Does this work on gas self cleaning ovens too? I run my cycle and it doesn’t get it as clean as I would like. Curious if this hack ia better than running the self clean option.

How's the bottom so filthy but the sides and the back are spotless come on
@CleanFreakGermaphobe2 жыл бұрын
It wasn't my oven, so I'm not sure how the messes came to be. But if you are suggesting this mess (or clean up) was staged.... it wasn't. The ammonia method really works 😃

I thought that you were planning to clean the oven. But you didn't clean it. The he oven is still a mess, you only cleaned the bottom. The oven has a door, three sides and a top. Anyone can clean the bottom with a can or two of Oven Cleaner, that's the easy part. The nasty filthy stuff splashed up and burned itself to the top, then some of that spewed down the walls and eventually rested on the oven floor.... Create a cleaner for the entire job and then maybe, I'll be interested in trying something new...
@azombieee2 жыл бұрын
None of that stuff worked on mine that's had years of grease baked on from previous owners lol. It seems to be doing the job so far!

Your video is dangerous. You are supposed to clean the oven out with water and soap to get rid of the ammonia residue before eating. Cause if they don't it'll poison the food. Second you need to remind people not use ammonia with any other cleaning products as to not make mustard gas. Please edit your video cause people can gwt hurt from this.

Hummm I appreciate your effort but it’s still filthy. Elbow grease is *always* needed for a truly clean job.
