Hey My Friends . Whenever I Explore . I never use a Compass or GPS . I may look at a map of the Area depending on the Terrain . Only for reference . As if I only have a few hours or a day or two of camping . Then I pick a direction and go . I never return using the same direction . Just Use visual points like Sun , Moon , Stars Like You and Mountain Tops . If you follow the Mountain Tops . They are constantly changing . So keep one eye on them always . I do not know how people get lost . I always remember where I came from . Earth , Study the Globe . You will always Find Your Way Home . Love You ! Hunters and Hunters Team ! You share so much . Fantastic finds but be careful not to brake or damage the bakelite pieces they are likely to contain asbestos. However asbestos in the bakelite is only dangerous if it's damaged and therefore likely to release fibres into the atmosphere.

Had to laugh when you said you hadn't done a GPS of the site the last time you were there. Really are some remarkable finds there. Hard to believe some of those paper labels were in such good shape. Really have to wonder why all of that was dumped there? Acquired one of the Bakelite 88mm fuse containers several years ago. The igniter & gain fuse box you sent me from when Eagle Eyes first found them is in a display case on one of the shelves of a bookcase with books about WWII. Still so appreciate you sending that to me!

Man!!!! How amazingly AWESOME!!!! I so want one of those and one of the coffee cups one day 😊 and shoot…. I’d be opening up every single one of those things. How cool it would be to find something like money or gold or something like that, that maybe a soldier stashed in one and then it just got tossed aside and forgotten about. 😂 And one of those metal fuse boxes with the 5 rounded holes in what looks like a wood insert…. That would make an AWESOME cigar display stand in a humidor!!!!

The presence of all those fuse containers, is quite possibly evidence of a very busy artillery position, nearby. If not active in battle, perhaps as a practice range. Otherwise, I could picture some Wehrmacht officer ordering some soldier to haul them from the guns, to a supply point for recovery and reuse, but the lazy guy simply dumped them in the woods in stead.

So cool that you found that amazing location again. EE deserves all the praise in the world for finding that hidden treasure the first time. That was just a mind numbing find. And it is still incredible how many of those Gain tins were thrown under that rock so many years ago by persons unknown. And it still amazes to see that the labels have lasted on some of them. That in itself is remarkable to say the least. Just love the bakelite finds, the Gain holders, and the especially the fuse holders, they are just stunning and beautiful, rare finds. It seems obvious that sometime after the war, someone, probably German POW's, were set the task of emptying the Gains out of their tins, probably so they could be disposed of, and they just threw the empty tins under the rock as they did it. I can imagine them just sitting there, on the rocks, chatting about home and family, breaking up the ammo boxes for fire wood, throwing the Gains into a canvas bag, and just tossing the tins aside as rubbish. And decades upon decades later, our amazing Histroy Hunter team, finds them just as they were. Just an amazing, and unique find. Kudos to both of you, and thank you for going back and sharing this incredible find with us again! Cheers to you both! Stay safe!

Pretty cool find! I spent a lot of my childhood around WW2 warbirds where my dad helped restore them. Next time you are metal detecting a crash site , one of your goals should be to obtain un-faded paint samples from the wreckage. They are unbelievably valuable because German warbirds used so many odd colors and no-one saved examples and they are needed for museums, movies, restorations, ect. Just save them in a cool dry place out of any light, with as much data as you can find on plane type, year and location of crash and anything else that you think could narrow down the exact plane so future historians will have correct info. You would be shocked if you knew how many paint schemes are fake or inaccurate due to lack of information. Any paint left in the sun fades so save the ones that were buried. Thanks for what you do ,guys!😊

I hate that. Not the relics, of course. What I hate is not knowing how they ended up there. It's probably a mundane answer like the mortar crews just didn't feel like lugging all those things around. Maybe someone came across them while wandering the woods sometime after the war. Maybe he left them there to pick up later but then forgot where he left them. The curiosity is killing me, lol.
