Now that's proper food. I am 71. My mum said to me when I was a child, when you want eat's use roadside cafes. The best one's are always busy and lorry drivers use them. Always good food and good prices. Far far better than some of that frozen crap you get.

For me roadside snack vans are sometimes where you find some absolutely delicious food.. and this one looks exception. £4.50 for a roll with high quality bacon and sausage in it is an absolute bargain... what a find. As always great review Gareth❤.. Keep them coming mate.

I used to work in construction on homes before I got ill and my absolute favourite food was always from food vans on the side of the road or motorway. Since being unable to work I haven't had food van food but damn this takes me back. Best looking breakfast I've seen in a long time.

I'm in hospital at the moment, hopefully discharged tomorrow, you wouldn't believe how hungry I feel right now watching this. Hospital food is starvation meals, even the large portions you lose weight on. I was in hospital in 2018/19 for 6 weeks and my weight dropped from 15 stone to 10 and a half stone in the 6 weeks and I was eating everything they gave me.

Hi Gareth another good video. I always try to use these places when I am out and about because they always give value for money and are often in places where it's the only place to get a bite to eat and a cuppa. For me it's use them or lose them. That sandwich looked amazing and I liked your reference to McDonald's. As I mentioned in another comment recently MaccyD's has got quite expensive lately for what it is and for "fillability" you can't beat the local sandwich shop or lorry stop.

Another good one is the snack cabin on the car park in the centre of Milnthorpe. Sue's breakfast buns are quite famous locally. I had to eat mine over 2 days, it was so large. Bacon, egg, sausage, black pudding, tomatoes, the lot..... The buns she uses are the size of the one you had in this video...... You can have a smaller, scaled down version for wusses, but the full on job is the one 👍👍👍👍👍👍

I don't know of that particular food van, but know like you say they are gold mines, little gems, great people, great banter, and delicious home cooked food on the grill. I usually go for bacon, sausage, egg myself there well tasty on a bread cake and nice with a coffee/tea. That bap you had reminded me of the ones used to get when used to drive. That would do me until dinnertime for sure. I love this video, I have never seen this type of thing shown before in the UK, talking about the stand in the Layby. We used to have them all over here in Florida, but they have given way to chain restaurants mostly. I used to stop by this one, that had fresh made burgers as big as your hand at a bargain, but it went out of business. This video brings back a lot of memories.

Keep it locally sourced and support local snack vans etc. You could set up your own burger van mate. Your signature burger could be the Mc Baldy burger. Used to vist a similay van on the A57 just off the A1 on my way to Wilkos warehouse , Manton Wood, Worksop. Was called Piggies and I always had a 3 sausage and onion sarnie with brown sauce, really good. Your sarnie looks fantastic.

Iv got a porkys van near me, and iv been going there 27 years, last went on Tuesday this week and been going since I was 11 years old. Always good food and well priced, I would always recommend over McDonalds or such.

Looked big enough to feed a family of 4!! What other food was on offer? There used to be a van near Lincoln I remember and the woman used to make meat and potato pie. A slice of that was to die for. All the lorries stopped there. My dad was a terror for meat and potato pie and highly recommended it so must have been good. Long gone now I imagine. Good to see you out and about.

We use a drive in layby van when we go to Whitby. Its always busy & has a big carpark so cars /vans & lorries use it -- devine food ❤❤❤❤

Belting Gaz 👌🏼 I know exactly where you are there, there’s a farm in Bouth that sell eggs 👌🏼👌🏼 My route years ago went from Newby bridge, lakeside, finthswaite, all the 12-9 post code (which is a massive area) Up to Kirkby in Furness then up to waberthwaite across the moors, then drop into Coniston and hawkshead. About 30 parcels a day but 14 hour days from depot and back. Where I’m at now we have customers in Barrow and Ulverston. Usually a Friday around dinner time too. I’ll definitely pop there. Honest food at an honest price. Good fuel if you're working or in a rush, or both. There's loads of places like this; Luke's Snap Cabin on Heanor Industrial Estate is my go-to when I'm starving after a 60hr week on me day off. It's not worth taking a detour for, but the fodder hits the spot. 👍

Looks fantastic, hard to beat a good roadside food truck. There's one I go to in a small town near me that does a massive 2 piece fish and chips (cheap fish, but still) for CAD$10.00. Honestly 2 people could split it if they aren't big eaters. Compare that to $95 for two of us at the pub last night for a couple beers, an appetizer, small order of wings and a fried chicken sandwich meal.

Having retired from trucking two years ago that was my staple diet and there are some brilliant snack vans all over the UK , but I have to say prices have gone up a lot since I retired 👍🏼
