I'm really enjoying these. I had no idea vanilla was from orchids. I always thought it was a weird bean.

If you don't currently have one, get yourself an orchid to look after. They are incredibly rewarding and the flowers last a si,ly amount of time...

Happened into an orchid show in the National Arboretum in Washington, D.C. People were there from all over the world, with the most amazing photographic equipment. It was free.

Lovely video, however, a correction to the video. Tissue culture is not performed on paphiopedillum. They are grown from seed.

Interesting... i wonder why tissue culture doesnt work on that paticular orchid kind.

What's an orchids oldest ancestor? Where did they evolve from? Or are orchids themselves still primitive?
@BiteMyShinyMetal4ss3 жыл бұрын
You might be surprised, but the orchid family is one of the youngest of all plants.

🍀🌿☘️🌸 There’s a rare orchid deep in the Amazon jungle that it said to have the ingredients to immortality or longer health describe by natives and early explorers. But with all the jungle being burn down we might never find that orchid or many others plants that could potentially have beneficial health benefits.

Can someone recommend an orchid I might be able to grow here in Central Mexico. Summer time humidity is extremely low, often in the single digits. When I lived in the Florida Keys I was able to successfully grow several varieties to Orchid on my porch, but of course the humidity is very high there. Now that I live here in Mexico I miss having Orchids.
@OmaeWaMoShindeiRYU Жыл бұрын
maybe try a local variety, like vanilla orchids native to mexico
