I love how people want to compare to their premium vsts or even hardware, when this is an all in one production unit, workstation, DAW, with pure integration-full size, and less than the competition. If you can’t make kick ass music with this, you’re shit out of luck trying to integrate all your discrete instruments into something cohesive. If you don’t see the sound shaping ease with this, MPC was never meant for you.

And I own all the plugins of it on my X and LiveII The IO and dedicated buttons along with everything else on the X it’s just so premium for me everything is running to my patchbay eight outputs into my Apollo X6 Rack 😎 wish hope they make a KeyPro..💯 Shalawam!!

So would you recommend this or the new 37 key?
@kennyzee32218 ай бұрын
What are you talking about? This is a good keyboard but stop comparing it with a DAW! You have all this ‘workflow’ with a laptop, interface, a controller (even QWERTY keyboard) and the MPC software. It’s good as a keyboard, for live and even creating a song but no one in their right mind is going to ditch their computer with its larger screen, more powerful processors and RAM, not to mention the I/O, and, shell out thousands on this keyboard. It has its place and for keyboard players is great.
@kennyzee32218 ай бұрын
@@scarvellodepends on your needs and what you have. You’re not going to play like this bro with 37 keys but if you have a 61 key controller you can hook it up to the 37 keys and play away hehe. The 37 keys is a lot cheaper so there is that to consider as well.

Guitar player of 25 years with 15 years studio experience. Definitely not the best keyboard player. With that said, I wanted a workstation to seamlessly record ideas into so I initially purchased the Roland Fantom 06, which is an incredible performance instrument but it's sequencer has such a robotic feel to it since it's pattern based and doesn't offer linear recording like the Akai MPC 61. The returning point for me was importing samples on to the Roland and only having 8MB (yes MB) of space on it after adding expansion packs. Just got the Akai today and have an incredible feeling about it. The push buttons do seem a little on the cheaper side but everything else is incredibly well built. Can't wait to have some fun with it.
@Jason759132 жыл бұрын
The Fantom can have notes offset manually or with a Swing parameter. A lot of music like rock and country works perfectly arranged in a bunch of clips for the user to launch. It also gives more on-the-fly flexibility if repeating a verse or chorus is desired, and more, with ease that you won't get on a linear sequencer.

I am more of a keyboard player, than I am a beat maker. I was curious to invest in a square shaped MPC unit, or NI’s Machine. But I never took the plunge for fear of spending alot of money on a device I’d only occasionally interact with. But with this new hybrid? I think I may have changed my mind.

@@PB72UK Yes that is true, but the ergonomics of this new product makes interacting with this new hybrid keyboard a better user experience, versus plugging in a separate keyboard into an MPC. I have to agree, especially the pianos are some of the worst samples I've heard in recent times. Doesn't matter how many gigabytes you cram in there if the sampling process and post production is shit.
@Tigerex9662 жыл бұрын
It's does not have the power of your computer at all and is limited to just 4 GB for samples. For that you get keys pad sequencer audio in our interface full sampling multiple synth engines without the need of a computer. Omnisphere here is $500+ upgrade prices and computer updates that can cause problems, you also must buy the computer you are running it on without keys pad daw sequencer or audio in out interface and sampling app. This is meant to compliment the computer, its best when hooked to a computer, or to allow you to compose completely including recording mics vocal real good instruments even omnisphere and other vsts into the keyboard. Or to do everything with no need for internet or computer or studio.
