Under Baakura district, near Bishnupur, there is also a village called Ajodhya, my birth place . In my childhood day s i used to think it as the original Ram Ayodhya because in Bengali,Ajodhya and Ayodhya both pronunced and written with exact same meaning .why named so ,never known. May be strong influence of " Ramayana "was the reason .even in 2024 we proudly feel the same .Jaiii Shree Ram!!!! Under Purulia District there is also a hill called Ajodhya Pahar(hill). My grandfather's name is Guiram Some of my family members are Ram,Ramkrisna,Ramu,Ramchandra,Rampada,Ramketu,Ramlal,Ramanuj,Raman One of my friend is Ramprasad

If you are a Bengali you should know why we pronounce Ayodhya as Ojoddha. In Bengali we pronounce Aa as O or aww, and ya as ja. Like Aishwarya is pronounced as Oishorjo. Why???? Because Hindi directly evolved from Sanskrit but Bengali developed from Prakrit. Sanskrit in those days were only spoken by Brahmins and other people spoke Prakrit. Sanskrit was never spoken to communicate, it was only used for literature, and vedic practices. There were no upper Brahmin class in Bengal those days. Modern day Brahmins and Kayasthas migrated from Uttar Pradesh to Bengal some 600-700 years ago to Bengal. This theory was proved by genetic studies. Modern Bengali has many Sanskrit words but those came from Prakrit to Magadhi to modern day Bengali which is roughly 200-300 years old!!!!

Yes, this story is true. I am from Bankura District, and there is a village named 'Sanabandh' where 150 males have 'Ram' in their first, middle, or last names. They have carried on this tradition for 400-500 years. This village is a little way from the main Bankura City.
