Great show and a Beautiful Buick . This LeSabre is the same year as my Oldsmobile Delta 88 . These mid/full-sized GM cars were the cat's meow back in the day .

Beautiful car, I have to say the cars of the 80's had so much style and class. They made some great cars back then. Great video.

I'm still amazed how these so hated land yachts...nobody liked these when they were everywhere, are suddenly seen like something special. It still reminds me of the least possible effort by an American car companies during this era, under powered, overweight...but oh man, weren't those backseats the place to make life changing memories, borrowing grandpa's road boat on a Friday night, and a trunk large enough to sneak 4 extra friends into the drive-in theater!
@danidavis7912 Жыл бұрын
Agreed. They were piss-poor quality, ugly and frankly pretty forgettable. I mean, kudos to those who find them interesting, to each their own...but...just UGH.
@glx68 Жыл бұрын
No they were not underpowered. They had a low HP/Litre but a high torque also at low rpm. Better than many european cars in 70s/80s. I loved these quiet rides and I also do until now!

You think there ugly? They are the nicest riding cars. And personally from what i experianced they are excellent quality. People love to knock on American cars. But what do you see at car shows. Its what people want.

Hey JC I have a 1988 Buick Lasabre Estate wagon. It has 300K + , I'm curious how much did this owner spend to convert his V8 to a V6 . My wagon is a daily driver . I'm keeping it for some years I have an olds 305 V8 . I know back then GM offered this line diesel or gas

Cars were never ziebarted from the factory. Always dealer applied
@glx68 Жыл бұрын
The 4.1V6 was not a bad engine. You could get it in the full size cars of Buick, Cadillac and Oldsmobile, also in some midsize versions. In acceleration it was not the fastet in the big landyachts, 0 to 60 in aproximately 15 seconds. But with a good torque at low rpm and also a smooth ride similar to the V8 models! The engine's base was the famous GM 3.8 V6!😊

No they don't. The plastics are better. And you basically have no maintenance for 100l Miles. When was the last time you greased wheel bearing and had to do plugs every 10k miles?

That is such a nice ride! I have a lot of interest in that car, But sadly I see , it's now on consignment with a dealer with a lot of bad reviews. That's a shame As it looks to be a beautiful car. I only buy from private party after having a very bad experience with a dealer. The owner sounds like a heck of a nice guy too, Not sure why he chose to consign it with the dealer? But no question he could have easily sold this car on his own. He seems like a great guy to deal with, I'm just bummed he doesn't have it listed privately.

It is a incredible ride! Let me know if you would like to connect with the owner... I can make the introductions. Feel free to email me carsshopsandcollections@gmail.com

@CarsShopsAndCollections Thanks for the response! I have your email saved and will delete my comment once you've read my reply... (just so your email isn't out there for all to see). I will do some research prior to contacting the owner. My issue is that he's sadly locked into this consignment. The dealer basically owns his car until it sells... there simply is no way to buy the car directly from him, I would be forced to go through the dealer. It's sad because that dealer does not start cars periodically nor do they put battery tenders on the cars while they sit. Gaskets and seals go dry from sitting as well as tires getting low air and flat spots. Batteries go dead etc... the only way he can get out of the consignment agreement is if it has a time limit. Even if it does it'd be a year at minimum, and no way I will buy a car through the consigning dealer. I simply refuse to give them people any of my money, and regardless of purchase price they'd get a chunk of my money. There's simply no way around this consignment situation. If seller's consignment agreement has a time limit I'd love to know when it's up. I won't waste anyone's time here, unless the car is out of that dealers hands. Much thanks for understanding and replying to my comment. Again I do have your email saved thanks.

Beautiful car, but with the 4.1 V6 it was, uh, very anemic. These needed the 307 Olds V8 option.
@CarsShopsAndCollections Жыл бұрын
Elegance plus power! That would be awesome!
@joe6096 Жыл бұрын
@@CarsShopsAndCollections Well, the 307 was no tire burner but it at least moved the car decently. The 252 that's in this one, not so much. You could also get the Buick 231 V6 or Olds 350 diesel. Ouch! The sad days of the Malaise era!

I had an 81 just like it except it was green. That 6 cylinder engine's fuel injection system is pure junk! Hesitated and check engine light stayed on and low power, I got rid of it because of that! Could never get it fixed BUT it was a very comfortable and beautiful automobile!
