This is going to sound a bit crazy & you may end up thinking I am also unhinged but.. I have been watching your subscriber #'s increase but seems to be stalled at 990k & I really want that million for you something fierce! Sooo what I noticed w/Charlotte Dobre's channel that was having the same issue until one day it was just like BOOM💥 over a million & it came *after she changed the way her videos ended* (its just what I noticed) anyhow; instead of it being drawn out it would immediately go to another video & the middle of the screen was now a video suggestion to click INSTEAD of the normal play/pause button being in the middle(so even when u would click to "pause" whatever video popped up next it simply clicked on video to begin) I want to add this is coming from someone who watches on a phone not a computer so it may be diff for those who do! Maybe you & ur team can figure it out on ur own or maybe if u reach out she may tell u what she did differently bc I'm almost certain that is how she grew her subs from a stalled 990k to over a million in a short amount of time. Like I stated initially, I realize I may sound like a crazy loon but decided I had to share my thoughts on the matter with you even if it did sound a bit weird!! Either way I hope you pass that 1Mil goal sooner rather than later bc you certainly deserve it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@@hotpinkcrayolas I'm not surprised at people's ignorance. A complete beginner. When I asked them about songs in English they know, they didn't know any, so I asked them if they maybe remember ABBA or the Beatles or Boney M, all of which were popular here when they were young... Nope, not even recognising the major hits. Sadly, I didn't manage to teach them for long due to some health complications, but I really hope they at least listened to it because they really needed a bit of exposure to the language before starting the same course or any other course because of how the phonetic systems are very different...

I definitely appreciate captions too, but for different reasons. I am not deaf or hard of hearing, but I am autistic, so that brings challenges for me with *processing* what I am seeing/hearing. Everyone hates the maybeline concealer I what looks like a 1980s lipstick bullet but if you have sensitive runny eyes it is a life saver! Within the last year or two I started noticing I was reacting to all my favorite concealers, powders, & inner corner highlight shadows. I literally had to go through my collection one by one to figure out what was going on and the basically bought every concealer on the market to find one that would work. The only concealer that will stay is this maybeline one. I think everyone hates that it looks really outdated & they are applying it wrong/WAY too much. You just use the pad of your pinkie finger to swipe the top of the stick & warm it up & gently tap it into the inner corner. It’s nice & thick so it is high coverage w/ little product, does not move, & sticks to already moist eye lid space. PLUS NO FRAGRANCE. Why companies put fragrance in face & eye products is beyond me!

Since watching your videos, I've definitely not been using my beauty blender as much anymore. I bought a soft stippling brush that I use a lot more, for stuff like foundation, concealer, color corrector, etc. However, there's one thing I now use my beauty blender for that I didn't before: after adding powder, instead of brushing off the excess, I press it in with my damp beauty blender. That helps my makeup hold for hours longer without getting cakey or feeling sticky. I figured out that trick from a tiktok video you reacted to some time ago in which someone used damp paper tissues to set her powder as a stage makeup trick. I tried that and it kinda worked but sometimes it moved the makeup around and made me look blotchy. So started using my beauty blender for that instead, and it works a lot better. I also use it to blend out my cream blush a little extra after having blended it in with a brush, because I have a habit of liking wearing an insane amount of blush to sorta bring back the natural amount of redness on my cheeks, which is quite a lot. But wearing half a bucket of blush... you gotta blend that a lot. And using just a brush ain't quite enough unless I wanna stand there and pat my face all day.
@Patti-1962 Жыл бұрын
I have learned SO MUCH from you, Robert! I now put my foundation on a palette, using much less product, and smaller brushes. I have much more control with small brushes when applying complexion products. Also, applying product to one section of the face at a time, not spreading the whole face with foundation, then blending it in. I always end up with extra product that way, wasting money!!🖤🖤

Sometimes, whether it’s a positive or negative review, you can instantly see they’ve left a ‘product’ review on completely the wrong product ie. they’ve bought several products, decided they hate the brow product they’ve bought but leave the review under one of the other products they’ve bought - like under say a hair styling product! You also have to take into account they might think a product is crap but have no idea how to use the actual product in the right way - sometimes really obvious by what they’ve said in their comment or that it’s a completely unsuitable product for them. But that doesn’t mean they should trash the product - but most people don’t think like that unfortunately. So always ‘read around’ any review and don’t take it word for word is what I’m saying basically. Reviews can be really helpful but they can also unfairly destroy a really good product. Always learn so much from all your videos so thank you so much for your content. ❤

This made me think of an experience from a couple weeks ago. An acquaintance and I were discussing mascara. She lamented on how she always gets transfer (raccoon eyes) unless she uses waterproof mascara but that she hates using waterproof because she said it's too hard to get off. (She actually said she's worn the same mascara application for a couple days because she couldn't get it off. 😳) First i told her that soaking a cotton disc in micellar water and placing it on her lashes for a few seconds should take it right off. A makeup melting/cleansing balm should work, too. Then I asked her if she had ever tried a tubing mascara. (I swear by them.) She had no idea what i was talking about so I explained to her what a tubing mascara is and gave her several brands to try. Skip ahead to just the other day...I saw her, asked if she tried one of the tubing mascaras. She said "YES AND IT MADE MY LASHES FALL OUT!"😳Naturally I was perplexed. Come to find out, her lashes were NOT falling out. What she was seeing was the actual mascara "tubes" once you remove it at the end of the day. She said "Omg, I'm going to have to see if i can edit my online review. I wrote a scathing review complaining about how the mascara made my lashes fall out." Uhhhh, yeah... Operator error!😳🤯🤦🏻♀️

Could you please name a good tubing mascara you recommend? I have been on a long mascara journey and still haven't found one that doesn't smear apart from waterproof ones. 😅

i took the rare beauty criticism personally 😅 it’s my absolute favorite highlighter and the person who complained just used it wrong. it’s not supposed to be a blinding highlighter, and i found it to be really nice under the foundation for a more natural glow.

I really like the Elf concealer even though there’s so many mixed reviews on it, quite surprised by some of the negative reviews because it’s such an easy concealer to work with that doesn’t cake up or look dry!

So I tried out what you said about the soap brow stuff. It 100% worked, I've just finished a full day's work, and my brows are still where I put them. THANKS!

everyone seems to love the telescopic mascara and I hate it maybe because its a new mascara but just clumps my lashes together

My favourite thing to do when I buy anything is to look at reviews filtered from low to high. I love the reviews for on particular thing and it's like 'too thick' then 'too thin' in the next review, like with the Haus Labs one you mentioned in the video

I find the Haus Labs foundation to be almost exactly like the Nars light reflecting…at least on my skin. It’s gorgeous. I love both with a brush or with a damp velour sponge from Shop Miss A. A product/formula I hate that many people love is the Nomad Cosmetics eyeshadow formula. I’ve tried 5 different palettes and none of them wow me. I’ve decluttered all of them. 😢

Oh and I cannot wear a primer with either. It’s already glowy af on me just on top of skin care and my skin is 45 and dry 😂

This is such a great topic idea 1. What is a setting mousse the OP mentioned? Am i sleeping on something. That soap brow tutorial was superb 3. I think a lot of people have trouble with their foundation because they don't leave their skin prep long enough to sink in. People getting ready for work do not have the time influencers do for their makeup routine and don't give a few minutes between steps... And there is a distinct lack of knowledge between product compatibilities in term of serum verses silicone verses oil based primers and foundations. (I love your semi regular beauty blender rants)

This really makes me think about what products I have used and didn't like simply bc I was using it wrong. Great tips here! I hope this is the beginning of a series!

People should learn how to actually use the products properly before giving bad reviews. It also does my head in when foundations gets bad reviews based on the people choosing the wrong shade.

I really love this topic! I am 53 and was excited about Haus Labs but too was disappointed and put it away. I felt too like it just moved all day on top of my skin. I’ll give it one more try with a brush. Thank you!

I love this type of video! It helps me put reviews into context a bit and also think about why a product may not be working for me. 10 outta 10 :)

I am LOVING the mascara block from Besame, it is water activated and can be used for brows and eye liner too. It’s really old fashioned, but as someone who prefers a lighter mascara look (I get clumps so easily despite trying every technique to avoid them!) it means I can tailor the amount for the look, and get some really nice subtle eye looks. It takes a few more seconds to sort out, and carefully apply with the toothbrush style applicator, but when I have time it’s absolutely worth it! Pair with some rouge on the lips and cheeks over a tinted moisturiser, and a subtle beige eye look for a sexy Smokey eye or a more subtle “no makeup” look.
