The Deco is great. I had a V1, and decided on getting a V2 as well. I have the V1 before the amp, and the V2 in the loop. I play in stereo mostly. This video was the best I've ever seen on the Deco. I hope Strymon consults with you and gives you everything they make.

I love my Deco V2. It mostly serves to add an analog warmth to my digital rig, but the bounce delay works so well for making rhythm parts huge as well. I dont's know what it is about the delays but they're so big and warm. Just love this pedal...

Deco v1 has been my always-on for about 3 years now. Last in the signal chain into Tone King Imperial MK2, Twin Reverb or Iridium depending on what I’m doing. The crazy thing is how much you notice when you turn it off. Beyond that application, though, I find it’s a super-versatile production tool and experiment with it in all kinds of ways. The favorite switch is cool too, so there’s at least one more sound you can trigger on the fly. Probably my desert island pedal! Plays great with G&L S-500 and ASAT Classic (pretty hot and versatile MFD single coils) and Gretsch Filtertrons…

I think Strymon does a great job of showing “settings” in a variety of tunings and genres, and they have no nonsense playlists showing each pedal function…but this is great to have a narrated run through while playing all over the neck. By far my DECO v1 is my favorite pedal. I call it Andy Summers in a box!

This is a perfect demo man! Perfect! I SO appreciate a great demo that does what it is supposed to do - demonstrate the product and show all of it's features. So many demos out here end up focusing more on the demonstrator's chops and lean into how self-important his/her playing is. This demo (like Strymon's demos) is totally on point. I am ordering the DECO tomorrow along with the Strymon LEX (Leslie). I already have the BigSky. Apparently, it would seem that I am working more rapidly than I can afford (!!!) towards a pedal board laden with Strymon goods! But, hey... life is short. Thanks again man. I subscribed to your channel based on this vid (and Strymon's Pete Celi). Keep them coming. They are very necessary out here in an endless, bottomless sea of technology. Peace. (How about the DecoNator for a name for your dream multi-Deco?) 😎✌🎸

Great demo Alex. Nice to hear you stepping out on vocals. The Deco pedal just ooozes 70s vibe! (No pun intended). So much of the mojo of recorded music from that era was the result of "playing" the tape machine and console as tone tools. I bet the Deco would sound fantastic with bass. Loved that slide version of Lady Madonna with the looper, by the way.

I had it since V2 came out, it's a great pedal but the more I have it the less I use it. If I want a good overdrive I reach for my Fairfield Barbershop and etc. for each effect. Plus, I kinda like having dedicated analog fx that are more tweak-able. That being said, it's a great pedal, if you don't have a lot of pedals it's definitely a good one. There are better tape plugins in-the-box for tape. As always, great review!

@adamkrauss303 Жыл бұрын
I have been close to pulling the trigger on this pedal for a long time, but like you mention (the first of the many reviews I’ve watched), given the saturation and modulation sides, where to put it in the chain? Don’t think it has an effects loop to split the sides with other pedals between it? Also, cant you get your “Deco stomp box” by utilizing the midi functionality which was not mentioned.
@SuperdangerStudios Жыл бұрын
I totally did not realize I could use the multi stomp. I might get that for my next pedal board build. I like putting the deco either after all time based fx or even after the amp/modeler. I really like running modulation and reverb into the saturation side!

@SuperdangerStudios Жыл бұрын
It’s a great pedal! The v1 is perfectly fine if you aren’t doing midi in my opinion. Only big tone change is the cassette style compression which can be emulated via a compressor. Thanks for watching!

Hi there, question. I have the deco but struggling a bit where to put it in the chain in my set-up. I play ampless now in a live setting. I use the Dream 65' from UAD as the amp sim. Should the Deco go after the UAD or before? I use my dream 100% clean and I have all my modulation after it now (as if put in the effects loop) Do I put the deco before the Dream (to saturate especially) or as the last effect in my chain before going into the di?
@SuperdangerStudios6 ай бұрын
