That large bit of kit you asked about was used to weave the cotton, small children would be given the job of quickly diving under the machine while it was operating to pull out the loose cotton so it didn’t get trapped. Lots of kids died doing this and was so dangerous

History on this Mill suggests it was originally built in 1809. Built on a site reputed to have originally been a smeltery and stamp mill established in the 1640s. Although the Tweed Mill would close its doors for the last time in the early 80s where it had been a museum for 30 years, proceeding its closure. A lot of history on this property and clearly a fair amount of paranormal activity dating back hundreds of years to those first to inhabit it. Wow! Deserves more paranormal follow up. Get at it Adam can't wait. You're the best!

I worked as an electrician turning an old mill into a museum, it was exactly the same as this. You could see dug outs in the wall where the kids that worked there would sleep instead of going home .Brings back so many memories. All the machinery is for making cotton material from the bobbins. The black GEC thing on the table is an old DC motor starter. We got it all working again with the water wheel and huge leather belts to run the machines. When we got the machinery running one of the belts came off and nearly sent me to the after life.

Adams a beginner when it comes to ghost hunting and he’s using some devices that have no scientific value when it comes to parapsychology. But he is improving and I hope he keeps getting better. When it comes to respecting property’s and the people that used to live there. Adam is the greatest and most respectful. I’ll always watch him even though ghosts don’t exist. We really are in our infancy when it comes to using the right devices to prove other wise in the existence of spirits. Adam always provides amazing content and I only wish him to get bigger and better.

Great investigation Adam, I was googling the word 'Battery' which was mentioned on your device and apparently a Cotton mill had a job of 'Battery filler'. The "batteries" were the ranks of bobbins that fed thread to the loom. Reloading the loom required replacing the empty bobbins with full ones, often a child's job. Fascinating stuff.😀👍

The kit is an old weaving loom from when textiles were a major industrial part of the nation back in the day. This equipment is still worth something if it can be brought back to life. Loved this one, nice change from abandoned home's. Not surprised that a textile mill would be so haunted, I'm in Scotland and we have a restored one nearby. The big machines are looms and little kids were employed to run underneath them to pick up scraps unfortunately they didn't turn the machines off and if the kids weren't fast they would often be killed. Would love to see you do more like this one ❤️

Absolutely. They were the only ones small enough and women mainly worked in mills because of their small hands, from what I have read. I love historical fiction and have read a fair bit about the mills. It's very sad. I also read that after the act that stopped child labor some of the children were very angry. They saw themselves as "bread winners" for their family survival! 8 and 9 year old boys had been working since 5 or 6! 😢

Hey Adam! Your videos are so great! So interesting, and you make it so real( i know they are real), but no stupid screams or add stuff! I am a new fan! Me and my mum lived many years ago in Lithuania in a haunted flat. Lady and her family were murdered and her body was hidden in nearby. Only years later police find it. One night, my mum saw her shadow. It was a white figure just looking at my mum. My mum, as she described, was like paralysed and couldn't move for a few minutes. once she described what she saw, her relatives, they confirmed it was her. There were lots of weird sounds and weird feelings like watching. We lived for a few years. So ever since i do believe life after death.

You're looking at carders (for fleece and fiber), spinning machinery, and large floor looms for weaving. Lots of cones and bobbins in there, too that would have held the yarns for weaving. It's so sad to see it all left behind. I wonder if the pictures are from the walls? And yes, that room at the 6:33 mark would have been LOUD. At the 11:35 mark, it looks like a large bobbin winder, which could be used to wind all those bobbins of yarn around the place.

If I’m not mistaken, the machines are to weave the yarns into either rugs or into fabric. It creates a pattern by the way you lay the yarns. The sewing machine upstairs would probably work. If you stepped on the foot pedal, you have to rock it back-and-forth to get it to work.

Totally ASTONISHING explore. Adam mate, just when I think your explores can’t get any better you come up with something as brilliant as this. Fantastic results too! And doing this on your own - I’m a paranormal thriller author as I think you know and no way I’d do what you do on my own!!! You are a legend!! ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉

looks like they made tapestries there (the tall pictures you kept finding) it would correlate with the castle, the castle owner would have bought tapestries and things for the castle from there, or maybe the castle owner owned the mill. really like this place thank you Adam ! the floors are super dodgy lol but it still has that well used vibe to it

Your narrative at the beginning is always a treat for us viewers. Thank you for this amazing paranormal explore. Those large looming machines left behind with spools of threads feel like 100 years or more have gone by. Really enjoyed hearing the rush of water in the background. Well done, Adam.

Hi Adam, great video. Just want to mention that about 37 minutes just after it says **knocks x2 there’s a delicate flash of light over you left shoulder (our right) near the far window. Check it out.

Those machines are to wash then stretch and split and spin the yarn for wool to then make big rolls of fabric

Those huge looms & I think perhaps a dye vat? All the threads still at the ready! Like everyone just vanished. I wish the artwork could get to a museum or an art dealer. It would be interesting to find out about them. Did you say there was a waterwheel outside? Amazing! A lovely weaving mill! Be Careful! I’m thinking you need to take a rope & metal ladder with you from now on! 😬 Thanks for the video! ❤❤

Hello Adam, you do an amazing explorer every time!!! For the most part, the spirits seem to trust you, knowing that you are there for them and understand their circumstances to ask the questions that pertain to them. I feel also, for the most part, that they feel comfortable around you. Spirits pick up on our emotions and know whether you are sincere or not. 😊 The spirits sense that you have an enormous heart and are willing to be open to what they try to communicate to you about their past lives. Keep being the GREAT person that you are!!! 😊 ❤❤
