Good to hear a review from a PT. Ordered one last week and this will be a bennifit for someone that has gone through Hemial Arthoplasty from a Motorcycle wreck.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing. We are still using this rower daily in the clinic and it has been holding up really well.

good to know the seat is high. this would be good for my dad who lacks the mobility

You can adjust the foot height on the Concept 2 rower. I have to have my feet a bit low to get my chins to the proper verticle to the ground position at the front of the row. Because of some flexibility issues in my ankles, these high foot holders probably wouldn't work for me. What looks good to me on that Sunny rower is that it has room to get your hands well forward of your feet at the catch postition (like the Concept 2). Most less expensive rowers fail on that point and to me are unusable.

It says that this machine is kind of limited to 300lbs weight, but if someone is slightly above 300lb what are the things that may break? Is it the seat, or the overall stability of the machine...?

I just bought one. Well constructed. And yes i was hoping for more resistance. But im just starting out. Maybe once i learn better technique i wont need allot of resistance?

What do you recommend for water level in the tank?

Is this any good for weight loss and reduce belly fat ?
@TheShoulderGuide2 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say specifically it is any better or worse than an elliptical or treadmill for weight loss. It can be a great alternative for someone who is looking for something different.

Whats your honest opinion after 2+ months of use in your PT office? I just ordered one base off of this review and a few others. under $500 was my budget.

It continues to hold up really well. Is it the same as a Concept 2, not exactly, but for the price and smoothness it is a great alternative. I have no vested interest in the company or the promotion of the product. I bought this and will likely buy a second for my other clinic. One downfall is the water resistance feels a little light even at full capacity.

Hi Tony, I am interested in getting the Obsidian Surge 500 and I saw your video from January of this year. It is now July and I am wondering how you feel about the machine at this time. Do you still feel the same, pros / cons? Thanks in advance. Ed E

We still use this device every day Monday through Friday in episodes of between 5 to 10 minutes approximately 3 to 5 times daily. This is because we use it with different patients. The #1 frustration I have with the machine is the foot plates. The are great and large and comfortable, but there is no heel strap like the Concept 2 rower so for some patient's their heel will come out.

I love my concept 2 :) I get the affordability aspect of this though

I am actually going to buy a second one for my other clinic.

The monitor isn’t the best. Kinda of difficult to set up workouts imo
@TheShoulderGuide2 жыл бұрын
I totally agree. I hate that I can't lock it on time or some other setting. I try to remind myself that for half the price of a Concept 2 I will take some of these frustrations.

Would rowers help with strengthening my back?
@ToddLandholm-ch2ng10 ай бұрын
Yes it well it strengthens the whole body. The best part is your knees don’t take the shock from running.
