Just installed the Viking Raven bags on a 2003 Honda Shadow ACE. It was a nightmare. Had to patch a few hole that weren't in the right place. And putting the two bags together to mark the holes didn't work with my bags because of the way the lids open.

Just put Viking bags on my '23 Vulcan S. If they had sent the correct hardware it would have been easy as pie. They did not send metric bolts.

I really wish I saw this yesterday. Putting mine on was a nightmare. I found they sent me the wrong size bolts. Sent me 10mm bolts and the bike requires 8mm. The directions didn't show the flap being removable. I figured that part out, AFTER, I measured the holes. Luckily the holes are still good. Good quality, terrible "universal" and directions.

I hope the end result was at least good. I like the bags, but the install was more than I was anticipating.

@@bennieaust I haven't put them on yet. I did find out the stock bolts are not quality bolts anyway. I picked up some stronger ones. Also bought shorter ones. The ones that came with it were far too long

What length did you cut the bolts to?

I didn’t even measure overall length. I just test for and cut off excess.
