little tip Ads, when applying PTFE you should wind it on in the direction of the screw, that way it will tighten when you do it up rather than undo?

#13: You did it, got the same problem in the past and, it did not work for me ha ha, I got my solution done with blue gasket paste (sort of silicone gasket used in the automotive world) It stays soft and it is easy removed with some braek cleaner. As long as it work its ok ;o) Cheers.

Oh. So it doesn't always work? Ok, I was right to have my doubts at the time then

@@HermanHitstheRoad Indeed, the best way is to replace the O ring that sits in the part you screw of, but you got to find one first.

Sorry but boring but very important note . PTFE tape come in two types , one for water , one for gas . Gas , if it leaks will desolve PTFE tape made for water . I didn’t know that either by the way , water leak = wet feet , gas leak = BIG BANG ! 😉
@HermanHitstheRoad5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for that. I thought there was only one type. This just be the gas type then ?!
@Simon-3905 жыл бұрын
Herman the Hymer , maybe in a motorhome , like me , would be better to buy PTFE for gas , that will seal water fine with no problem and also gas , so if you buy gas tape you will be good for both water and gas 😉 , top tip , if you by two reels , one for each you can feel the difference straight away .
