My friend's surprised me with two boxes of vintage patterns from up north (north being NY, not actually Canada). So I decided to unbox them with you all on a live stream! You know as much as I do, there are two boxes, and I was told they are from "the 1950's". Will they actually be from the 50's? Older? Newer? Come and chill with me and find out!

I know this is an old video but your burning things comment made me think of my crafting days. I made and sold wood/painted Christmas ornaments and many other crafts for over 15 years. I made at least a dozen each, of 100 different kind of things every year. Not all of them were winners. Some were just FAILS. I would keep all my fails and about twice a year I would haul all the fails out to the fire pit, make my self a cozy beverage and have a Failure Fire. I found them wonderfully therapeutic. I highly recommend it if recreational fires are legal where you live.

I made the first one for myself and boyfriend, they did not match, in high school. I loved that pattern. It brings back some wonderful memories.

I also have a strong desire for a pair of secret 🤐 pants 👖 the emoji just showed up and I’m keeping them. But I have a truly Victorian split skirt pattern in my wish list currently. But I’m always hoping, I did score the 9008 gored skirt pattern, only way to small but I can grade it up without cutting it out. Tracing for my life.

Just remember, the reason they are hard to find is because they were the MOST used. Not that they didn't exist. (if that helps at all)

Bust 48 are extremely rare (unfortunately) because those sizes were used the most and then they fell apart. Your best bet is to find a bust 44 and try to size up. It is what I have to do all the time (bust 46 in the HOUSE)!

I'd love to see that 30s reproduction if there is a real pattern to match to! Fingers crossed it wasn't just designed out of someone's idea of what the 30s looked like. Also wow go vouge with the high waist size in those Charlie's angels pants

Girdle with a crotch piece - that they felt the need to call out - probably because girdles in the sixties didn't usually have a crotch, they were designed more like long-line stays/corsets with dangling grips for holding up stockings.

Oh, I don't mean they were laced like stays, they were elastic and mostly pulled on.

Pattern 3923 @ 19:21 I think every teacher in my jr high and high school had some variation of that awful dress. And they wore those stupid tshirt turtlenecks with them, especially the tnecks with the tiny prints. Yuck. Just picture that outfit with docksider shoes. 🤢 Ooo, I remember walking shorts in the 80s, too. Pleated, knee length, sometimes in corduroy, lol. Had teachers who did those too, with tights, oxford shirts and those awful crew neck monogrammed sweaters either worn over the shirt or tied around their necks Biff and Muffy style. Kill me now.
