Obviously haven't seen the video yet but just a pro tip, you can remove adhesives such as tape or glue from animals by using regular cooking oils such as olive oil, canola, etc. For a delicate process like this i would use a qtip to apply the oil on

This is a trick i learned online because glue traps (for mice) are very cruel, and putting oil onto them is the safest way to free a hopelessly stuck animal from a glue trap. I've used this trick to save a bird from flytape as well, the bird bit the crap out of my hand but it was in its right given that the fly tape shouldn't have been outside to begin with! (my mom put the fly tape outside. I told her the risks and she ignored me and did it anyways, and then she came running for me when it inevitably happened 🙄🙄 anyways the bird was fine and flew away as soon as i released it back into the yard after helping it!)

This is correct. My passed corn snake got stuck to adhesive from LED lights thar fell and we freed him using vegetable oil. He didn't loose any scales but he died the next day from a tornado. RIP. The oil is perfectly fine for them but you might have a lube tube in your enclosure for a while

Worked over 10 years in an exotic pet store, customers regularly had snake on tape issues. mineral oil is the best hands down for anything including duct tape, even takes the residue off too 👍

I used to have a friend who would frequently ship out and in reptiles through his house, much like this, he liked to rescue and rehome animals in need. But one day we were having a conversation about packaging. And he told me that he was having issues with people understanding that the bag was helpful. A lot of people kept sending in their reptiles, snakes lizards and amphibians, and they weren't in their proper containers. Especially the snakes and the bags, and most of those people said they felt like it was torture to put the snake in a bag. People.

I've had to get tape off a few snakes. It's always so sad!! I soak them in warm water and then use olive oil on a q-tip to lubricate. Scales sometimes come off, it's not stuck shed. Paper towels and hospital bin until the next shed. Thankfully the snakes were ok and returned home safe.

I suspect this was a combination of poor quality tape that came loose due to heat and humidity, as some adhesives are very weak when warm and damp, and that he simply escaped the bag and then got tangled.

My ball python when I feed her (frozen thawed) goes all the way up the side of the rat past the tongs, and slowly nibbles the foot. I wait till she has a good bite on it and then do a little tug, she pulls and then after waiting a few minutes goes to the head and swallows it like normal. She's a pretty good eater, only went off food once and that was all of February. I just thought it was kinda silly lol

My sister got a rosey boa dumped at her mini rescue with writing on the box saying "Im a POS that bites" an when opened it's mouth was shut with electric tape. Fortunately the snake was mostly unharmed and even after the tape was getting pulled never tried biteing us. Only close call was when feeding my dad was stupid to pick her up with his hands smelling like chicken took a strike but didn't hit. I'm glad you're rescue snake turns out to look fairly well off.

Unisolve adhesive remover works extremely well and is made for removing medical bandages. I always have it in my medicine cabinet just incase I have a sensitive cut and a strong bandaid that refuses to come off lol.

I had to get electrical tape off of a teeny tiny ball python, coconut oil works very well to loosen the adhesive. Just rub a little where the tape meets the skin, pull some tape off, and repeat.

Maybe you should make a small deposit (like 20 dollars or so) to motivate people to actually follow through with the instructions for packaging? So when everything is fine they get their money back. Sadly, money is usually the best motivator in these kinds of scenarios and had something different happened, you could've suddenly had some extra expenses

Id bet they tried toclose rhe bag with tape and in order to get out the snake had to push through the tape, thus not in bag and also taped up. Or else ir may be the bag just wasnt well closed and he got stuck in the tape that was possibly on the heat pack. Im just glad hes okay!

Nice video! If I ever have something stubborn stuck to my pet snake like duct tape, what would be the best way to go about removing it without exposing the reptile to harsh liquids like solvents? My ball python used to be ok with her temperament (Not cranky but also not totally chilled). When I once had to remove a stuck scale from her one eye, I prepared for a nice solid bite. I just went about being gentle with her and slowly used a spray bottle with water and gently rubbing at the stuck eyecap. After I managed to get the stuck eyecap off, she suddenly went into full-chill personality mode and has been super chilled ever since. Now she will love to hang around my neck and firmly rests her head on my shoulder while I watch a movie on my pc (and looks like she watches with me!). Even when she goes deep into shed, she lets me handle her like if I need to clean her enclosure. Curiously enough, she only lets ME touch or handle her. She doesn't like other people. At all. I think it's because since I got her, I don't expose her to any strong smells like deodorants, air fresheners, fragranced handcreams and soaps etc.
