I was amazed how light their rod is. Haven't hooked up a monster on mine yet, but hope to in the next couple weeks. I ordered mine after the conference too. Too good a deal to pass up.

5 lbs, just about what we throw on the east coast of Va, NC, surf casting. :) We don’t use “no” hooks, just scare the hell out of them to leave the water dropping, bombing them. So it’s bending into the lower handle? Looking for a slow, parabolic action rod that’s affordable.

You can make that clicker louder by taking a side off and that little L shaped lever that hits the gear ,,,you bend it a tiny bit outwards and it'll make that clicker twice as loud.

5 pounds was a good weight to show the power/action of that rod. I wish it would become the standard weight when showing rods on video. This way we would have a better grasp on what we are buying online. Nothing is worse that finally getting your rod and it turns out to be too....😠

Just ordered one today I also purchased a abu garcia catfish special I have a kast king reel also. I’m brand new to cat fishing so I’m relying on what I see online but I’m pretty sure all three will work fine I’m just curious if the abu will be worth what I payed for it compared to the other two . Time will tell

You take a side off of it you'll see what I'm talking about there's like a some of them have like little tiny pens that hit a wheel this has like a l-shaped lever and take a pair of needle nose and bend it real slowly or easy outwards
