I have one of those. They're really cool, but it's hard to get used to the notes not in sequence. Who puts the next note on an opposite side? Weird instrument.

It is a strange arrangement! It does make it easier to play runs when using only your thumbs, and it also makes chords very easy 😊

I ordered a 17 from AliExpress and I understand your frustration about the wait. I bought it to replace my current Kalimba because I am bummed about the top 4 notes. I thought buying a solid Kalimba would solve the problem. I hope mine that is yet to arrive sounds better and from a different manufacturer. Thanks for the review. I've watched heaps of your videos and only today I noticed your cool earrings. LoL

The way I describe it is a nice more expensive set of silverware and cheap cafeteria style silverware! I have large hands as well but I will stick with the 17 key Kalimba! I have several and smaller ones and the split key kalimbas etc.

I've never tried a 21-key. That seems like it might actually be more confusing. Kinda like our previous comments about tongue drums... more is not always better. LOL. I agree that it looks a bit short compare to the width of the board. Is it strange that I was a lot more excited by the 15-key kalimba?

Not strange at all! Interestingly, this is like a combo 15 and 17. The lower notes of the 15 are added to the center while keeping the higher notes on the outside. I love the low notes so I do like it 😊

I have this same Kalimba in brown. On video, the notches look pretty low. However, it is perfect for my skinny fingers and small hands.
