Thanks for the video! I've been wanting to buy a kalimba for two years but never really got a chance to do research thanks to quarantine I'm able to finally look at new instruments I want to try and I really like the sound of kalimba's. @@babypink8954 awww, the way you said that is just so sweet. 😭♥️ Mmm, when i was choosing it the photo had that logo, but when they sent it, it didn't so i think they are the same. Because everything inside is the same. Haha! About the grip, since i was used to holding the flatboard kalimba, it did felt different, because for months I've been used to the straight kalimba body, but eventually it felt okay. The only issue is the weight. The wood is way way lighter.:)

Hi! So glad this video was able to help even if its been so long. But yes. The volume can be really soft with the acrylic, and quite louder for the wood. The hollow type is the loudest. My top favorite hollow is from Hugh Tracey :)

i bought this exact kalimba from the store you linked in shopee and i was so pleasantly surprised! although my tuning hammer was kind of different (did not come with a wooden handle and has a rubber end on one side), my kalimba came with engraved keys and a hard case (the one with a zipper!) 💕

I just joined your channel! I am 66 years old, and I wish to buy a kalimba for a 15 year old neighbor and friend. She comes and walks our dog, just because she loves dogs, and can’t have one just yet, due to family member with allergies. She is the most amazing young woman, and already plays multiple musical instruments: piano, ukelele, guitars and I believe a wind instrument or two. I purchased the Nalu Cat Kilimba as my first one (and honestly did it as an impulse buy at 3 am cuz iv wanted one for ages and it is SO CUTE?!) and I love it! I'm hoping to try a wood one in the future once iv used this one for a while but I have it sit on my shelf in a holder when not in the case and I love it! It is so so cute and sweet and I can play it for as long as I want without it being herd through the walls which is amazing in a house with others who don't want to hear you playing at all hours!

I recently took up music and a kalimba was one of the first instruments I ordered (the others were a harmonica and lotus drum). I have to say you made me look into getting an acrylic kalimba despite a different review I read. I'm just worried that the transparency will mess with my eyes. Edit - of course right after I write this I see they have black acrylic kalimbas... T-T

I went for the one with built-in linein with a vision of including it for the Kids Church worship time. We use ukulele most of the time, and I think it will sound nicer with the kalimba on the mix. ;)

I couldn't help but notice the absence of the backside holes on your wood based kalimbas. I've only had 2. both hollow wood box base and they had holes on the back that gave a pleasant vibrato or flanger "wah" type effect. Have you played these types?

Hi Fatima! Oooh Cega is a BIG no no. Like, the chances of it's tine being okay is very slim. Though i would go for Kimi if you want Acrylic, gecko17cap if you want a solid wood. I did a live video on that i think it's titled "wooden vs Acrylic' that would really help :)

Which would you recommend the gecko flat wooden or the acrylic?

Hi Mitch! Well, depends on your type. Sound wise they do differ. Wood has a cooler sound or more mellowwhile the Acrylic is more warm or romantic. If i were to choose one, I'd go for the wood for the sole reason that it's lighter. I enjoy playing the kalimba for quite some time, and i notice that if i use the acrylic one, the weight can really affect the duration of your playing. So. Wood, flat wood to be specific. :)
