Nice video Sir. I have an almost exact pair from Carmina shoe maker which I plan to do an in-depth review on recently. Exact design, toe shape and color. Looking forward to your next upload!

Beautiful! I just bought a pair of Allen Edmonds Strands and lightened them up with Acetone. Exactly same color. I used Burgol Creme polish, a German quality brand and better than Saphir. My experience and opinion. Love to wear the shoes even if they are really very casual

I’ve heard great things about Burgol, I was introduced to them by Shoepassion.

I’m super excited to hear you got a pair of Allen Edmonds Strands this color. When I first turned to that brand in the mid 1990s I wanted a pair that color but only wore black shoes. When I finally got into brown tones they had already hit the chestnut phase which was darker, though not as dark as today’s walnut.

Beautiful shoes‼️ I'd also recommend Cobblers Choice leather conditioner as an alternative to Bick 4 or Saphir Renovateur. I prefer using my fingers for lotions and creams so natural products are a must.

I also have the Belgrave bought from the factory shop. It’s a nice looking shoe on its own - but tan does not go well with as many clothes as darker colours. The colour does not develop a patina like Crockett and Jones antique tan. I also have Trickers Abingdon split toe in brown museum. Three pairs of Trickers but none of them the big country brogues they are known for.

I bought a pair of Tricker's single monks in a similar colour, with broguing on ebay for £70. So comfortable. Very much taken with them - so comfortable - a country shoe :-)

Another outstanding video, thanks. Lots of great technique for moisturizing & making that perfect first shine. Fantastic new shoes, how is the fitting on the width compared to your PTBs you used as a comparison?
@wishoeguy4 жыл бұрын
This last is definitely roomier, the PTBs are unlined and snug. These are fully lined and I have room for thick socks.

On leather, where I do not want to change the texture or colour, I use Saphir Nappa Leather Balm. It is amazing and personally, I think it conditions the leather even better than Renovateur does.

Very interesting! - how does the size of those Belgraves correspond to AE? I found that although they say the Bourton runs large and one should take a half size smaller, I need the same size in the Tricker’s town shoes like the Belgrave. Maybe because the toe box is roomier than usual.
@wishoeguy3 жыл бұрын
I should have sized down on these. My Robert same size and unlined are tight... go figure.
@wishoeguy3 жыл бұрын
I should answer your question directly. I wear a 11D in AE 65 and these have a much broader instep and are roomier as a 10UK.
@b_altmann3 жыл бұрын
@@wishoeguy thank you for your reply. I’m a UK 10 in the Stow, 9.5 in the Bourton, but also 9.5 in the town collection. I guess usually it’s one size up in the American standard

@@wishoeguy I think with the stain they could be returned - it’s probably a splash from staining the welt. Normally that makes them seconds. I bought some C&J at a reduced price for that reason

@@b_altmann hadn’t occurred to to me but you’re probably right. I’ll need to get some 100% acetone and remove it. Just haven’t gotten to it yet.

How would you say the last definition is on trickers Vs other English makers like C&J or Cheaney?
@wishoeguy4 жыл бұрын
I don’t own any Cheaney but I feel it’s as good as CJ but definitely designed more to be country than city normally but these really fit the line between.

I have heard, that trickers does not use a proper leather outsole, only cardboard with a thin leather attached to the outside. Is this true, any experiences?
@wishoeguy4 жыл бұрын
That’s definitely not my experience. My Robert I’ve had for a while and it’s definitely Leather. I’ve heard some large makers use particle board in the heel stack instead of leather. They claim it’s better but I think it’s just savings. When you replace heels I upgrade that.

What is the sizing compared to AE 65 last?
@wishoeguy4 жыл бұрын
This shoe has a more generous instep. I went down a whole size. Where the 65 oxfords don’t close all the way, the trickers do.
@ilgambino07844 жыл бұрын
Wi Shoeguy so the equation is 9.5 AE - 10.5 UK on the Trickers?
@wishoeguy4 жыл бұрын
Gian Famiglietti no. No. Please a 9.5 AE is an 8.5 UK.
