Great information thanks, was thinking about ways to attach fly screens to the roof vents as they open and close. I will have a go at making fly screen mesh that goes up with the vent like a popup trailer roof.

We have the same opener and we are working on creating a window vent in our home built greenhouse. How did you create the vent part itself so that it doesn't leak. Do you have a video on that somewhere?

This is the third year. Still working fine. I would imagine they will have to be replaced at some time, but not yet.

I replaced a couple of openers last Feb, 2022. The old cylinders were stamped with "Orbesen Teknik 1984". One had started leaking after 37 years! These things are pretty much bullet proof. The pivot points on the old ones were fairly shot (I never oiled them) but they had nonetheless been working fine for all that time. If, each Spring, you put a drop of light oil onto all pivoting parts and assuming the openers have been installed correctly these Univents will give you decades of trouble free service.

can i use this on a vertically installed windows rather than in angled?

I would think so. There should be enough push/pull force to do so as long as the window isn't too big/heavy. Hard to know for sure based on your size/weight. The size windows that I have build should not be an issue at any angle.
