4 blade MOPAR fan all you need you don’t need a fan driving along mainly in town at lights an stop 🛑 sign etc or idleing in your shed so a 4 blade is all you need MOPAR an Radiator boy here 👍🏻🇦🇺

Sounds like a '69 Dodge Polara California Highway Patrol Car with a 440 Magnum. They sounded pretty salty back in the day, and they were fast too. Take care, Ed.

Good stuff. I went with ColdCase in my 71 Cuda. It is fantastic. I did need to use the short Hayden 2947 clutch fan to get the clearance needed. In 95 degree Florida weather with factory AC on max and it is still on the cool side.

Thanks for sharing John! I know lots of guys who have overheating issues when they switch to the wrong electric fans etc.

Hell yeah, 2947 low profile clutch with a 3462186 fan is the best combo I've ever run. 110f outside and Im romping on the gas all over town and never got above the cold line. I dont even have a shroud!!!

That's a much nicer rad than the crappy plastic tank supposed "factory replacement" I got for my truck! Thanks for sharing!

I also put one of those 150.00 ebay radiators in my challenger. It's been in there for 5 years and works great. Looking forward to the exhaust video!

Thanks Todd! The exhaust was definitely more fun, but will be longer than this one.

I swear by Champion. I've dont several of their 4 core replacement aluminum rads and have nothing but good experience with them. The only bad experience I had wasn't even their fault, it was their shipping carrier and Champion covered the whole ordeal. Amazing customer service.

Thanks for sharing. I started with these less expensive ones when I found out about them. I’ve heard good things about champions and be kool.

Got one of those in my Barracuda... tip for young players, always check the sizes before ordering...got the big block rad for my small block....man the alloy strips on the sides almost touch the chassis rils both sides...it was massive... Never gets to 190 in Aussie Summers... 100 + degree days...lovin it
@JustMoparJoe2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Aaron! I did the same on my challenger. Before painting the support, I opened it up to the big size.

Yes sir. They make a 26” wide as well.

I needed a new radiator for my 1980 Mirada and could not find a reasonably priced aluminum replacement. So, I got out the tape measure and started looking at all the eBay listings. A 1985-1993ish Dodge truck radiator has the same dimensions and the only difference was the truck radiator uses a larger lower hose. Since the hoses are trim to fit anyway, I bought the $150 eBay radiator and hoses for the truck. My install was just like yours- redrill a couple of holes and it was good to go. It fits nearly perfect, especially considering the radiator was for a completely different application.

The short fan clutch you need is a HAYDEN - 2947.. This is the clutch everyone uses in 62 - 65 B-bodies... UNLESS you go to a 66 - 72 K-member, then you can use the clutch you have as the newer K-members move the engine back more than 1.5 inches.. I cannot remember the tranny mount to use in that set up, but somehow C-body rings a bell... The original rad or at least the one you removed from the car, is for a big block and it is worth some bucks. Especially with the factory shroud and it's brackets!!!
@JustMoparJoe2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Steve. The new radiator looks perfect with the clutches I have here, with about 3/4-1” clearance. My issue was the fan was hanging out the side of the radiator. I appreciate the information 👍🏼

Been looking for an aluminum radiator for my Demon that I’m putting the 360 into. This looks like it’ll work for me, I’ll measure to get the right size. If JMJ & 318willrun both say these work, then thats enough for me to try one. Thanks for showing this to us 👍

Great video as always Joe - good to know on the ebay radiators! Very excited to see it running at the end - I was at car show and saw a white Coronet (might be the same year) all original. These cars are pretty special.

I put a double pass radiator sold by Speedway Motors for my 440. It keeps the car very cool but did not come with the drain cock which is annoying, but the price was good and it works fine
@JustMoparJoe2 жыл бұрын
That’s a pain. But as long as it’s not a racecar, maybe you won’t have to drain as much

That radiator worked out great! I might have to look at that one in the future. I ended up using a aluminum re pop of a 79 W100 radiator in my dart. It works and like you saw I was able to use the Valiant shroud on it with some "Custom" repair work. Great video joe!

The two other holes on bottom of radiator are transmission line ports right ?
@JustMoparJoe10 ай бұрын
Yea sir. If you don’t have a cooler, you can run them. If you have a towing application, and live in colder weather, they recommend to use both.
