I think that you just sold me! Great video to see what it does between a .38 and a .357. The 7 rounds is really important to me. This would be my carry gun when my wife and I day hike in WA, ID, WY. Right now, I'm carrying my Colt .45 M1911A1 with +P when we hike...and I know that it isn't the best against a bear. Although I like Ruger, I just can't see spending $750 for a 5 round SP100 or $850-$900 for a GP100 that carries 6 when I can have this Taurus 627, 7 round for $459 pretax. I have a Taurus .38 for my daughter and a G3C 9mm for my son and they are just fine.

I purchased a good holster for this firearm from liberty sports mfg. It came from fenton missouri via ebay or amazon. I cant remember. Its black with a velcro strap. Left or right side belt slots. Heavy on the belt so make sure to get a good belt. It also has 5 slots in the front of holster for additional cartridges. Only bad thing i recognized real quick was the rear sights catch it upon the draw. Easy fix with hard plastic clip i have clipped where the rear sights are. Best holster i found for this 627 4". Check it out bud

I love my 6.5" barrel Tracker. It is more accurate (or I am with it anyway) than my 6.5" barrel Ruger Blackhawk. It is my favorite of my pistols, and also the least expensive -$420 about 4 years ago. It has the 'ribber' grip, which I at first didn't like, but I think it does cushion felt recoil. Love revolver for ability to keep it loaded indefinitely for 'bedside' without ruining mag springs of automatic pistols.
@JBJHonez
@JBJHonez 2 жыл бұрын
Nice. I like mine as well. Not sure if the Ruger Blackhawk trigger can be staged or not, never shot one. For me, it helps with accuracy even when shooting moderately paced double action. I’m liking their grips as well, some seem a little narrow but anything is better than wood IMHO. I know I forget to mention fit, finish and such when doing unboxing or thoughts videos but I’m liking the Taurus revolvers a lot and for the price, they can’t be beat

@@JBJHonez Hey JB am back, lol got me the 608 2 weeks ago, and it performs like the 627 with one extra round in the chamber. I love how it operates right out of the box no issues with rounds getting stuck in the chamber after discharge like I have seen in some videos. I have had that happen with one of my snubby, but instead of waiting on Taurus, I simply took it to my local gun smith and he took care of it. Now it runs real nice.

Good video. I love the hollow point shot. Because I have a couple needs for a revolver, I just got this gun last week. I took it out to shoot for the first time and really liked the feel. I was shooting at 10 to 15 yards, I was able to keep a decent group using shot 158gr .38 special rounds with almost no recoil. I'm guessing the ported barrel helped with that. My problem is after 100 rounds the coating they put on it looks stained from carbon. I tried to clean it with a couple solutions with no luck. I would rather have this in polished stainless or just black. Any suggestions on cleaning because I'm already wanting to sell this gun.

Thanks. I just use hopps 9 after each range trip. It doesn’t look close to new but gets a good bit off. I also try to remember to put a light coat on it before the range trips. The porting does appear to reduce apparent recoil. I have had a 6 inch barrel GP-100 since the mid 1990's. I eventually had to put a Houge monopod wood grip on it to keep the trigger guard from hitting the finger behind it. Makes the recoil so controllable my older hands can single fire it both strong and weak hand. I wonder if this revolver would take that same grip? I am looking at Taurus for new revolvers.
@JBJHonez

Taurus is very close to S&W as far as compatibility. I’ve used some smitty parts in various Taurus’. I’ve got a lot of other vids of me shooting revolvers as well if you wanna check them out. @JBJHonez
@JBJHonez 2 жыл бұрын
I don’t get what you mean by your first question. A 6 inch would add some velocity. Longer sights radius can help with accuracy.
