These are ok for occasional use around the house. My choice is either a Stihl ms170 or Stihl ms 311 timber boss. Love how they are quick to start even in cold weather and are powerhouses. They are the most aggressive cutting saws I have ever touched.

Mine has done good so far and starts right up I just run non ethanol gas and descent oil mix and it runs fine.For the money there not bad.Its not a Stihl but you know that when you buy it.But for home use there pretty decent just put a good chain on them keep the filter clean and run a good mix with non ehanol gas and they do the job.There not that bad I've had 2.

Very accurate. Note, he admits he'd already started it. That's because the video would be way too long if he recorded the first startup. He struggles to get it going even when it's 'hot'. He said it was 'a bit flooded'. Right. The Poulan gets flooded like 80% of the time after you shut it off. Once "flooded" it can be extremely hard to know how to get it going. I've spent an hour cutting then shut if for a break. Some days it'll fire right back up. More likely it won't start and I'll have to give it 20 minutes between attempts to get it going again. One day I let it rest an hour came back and it wouldn't fire. I tried again in 15 minutes and the pull cord came loose out of the housing. $180 for about a two month useful life. I'm actually using the Pro 4218. It's been 'fixed'. I'll be cutting today if it will start and keep starting... Per the Poulan Manual start routine, worked right by the book. Took the trigger, set the idle and cut a limb off one of our 60 year old orange trees. So far so good. I released the trigger and the idle failed. It stopped. Let's see how it restarts when warm. By the book, chain brake on, no throttle; Turned over once or twice after 5 pulls but never got close to starting up. Choke open at first since it was just running three minutes ago. Tried at 50% choke, no difference. It's "flooded". BS as far I'm concerned. All I did was release the trigger, it died and it won't start. I never pushed the bulb once after the initial 10 to clear air at the cold start. At least the pull cord didn't come off. I need to remove a scrub tree coyotes are using to jump the fence. I'll tote the saw over the fence and start it there. If it's just as stubborn I'll spend my afternoon waiting for this lousy tool to wake up and do its job. If it never runs I'll have a hand saw with me. My takeaway, Stihl or Husqvarna are worth the 200% markup. They actually work when you ask them to.

dam great video just a city boy from protland that needed a chain saw when 4wheeling...not a sthil but i got her for 50$ refurbished w/o a scratch on her! cant wait to put her together and see her run....any suggestions for long term storage in the back of a truck??
@johnwells79317 жыл бұрын
not a bad saw at all they are set way to lean from the factory that's why they are hard to start and don't last long ,, box stores don't tune the carbs like a stihl or Echo dealer does before you take them home ,, it's true
@johnwells79317 жыл бұрын
you got a nice saw I would recommend a carb tune and that saw will run as hard as any stihl

I have had two Poulan 2800 16" chain saws. They are good for light duty. If you want to get one that will last you most of your life go with what the tree cutters here in Houston use and that is the Stihl brand. Those run and run and run! I probably have 18 good chains for the Poulan 16" saws. I went and bought an Oregon brand professional chain saw sharpener, you know one of those $ 350 units. It works great. What I need to do is look at the numbers on the chains I have and buy another Poulan saw that I can use these chains on. Does anyone have the Poulan corporation phone number? That would help in my selection of another 16" saw.
