They have a thinner version called "tri-tones" as well, I've seen them in my local art shop. I think they could be neat for backgrounds or like suggested grass or sea. Perhaps wood. I thought that one orange/tan looked like stripey animal fur.. cat or fox perhaps... and of course for abstract applications like the mandala. The "3D" idea is intriguing but not very realistic since it's not a matter of light and dark, but light and dark in the right places. Basically impossible to do that with these you kind of get what you get. Nice for fun though. I think they might go down more smoothly with either a cross hatch (color one way then another layer in the cross direction) or a scumble motion.

It's really pretty on your 1st try with those pencils!! I've seen some other colorists' colorings of some Etsy shop pictures using them, and they've just been quite beautiful. Amazon, here I come!

I'll have to watch this once I get home. I did an unboxing of their Tri-tone pencils the other day and love them. It's their smaller set and I was thinking of getting the larger set. Once I get the chance to watch your review, I'll make a decision. 😄 TFS❤

Now that I saw the entire video, these appear to be a chunky version of their Tri-tone pencils. Those pencils have the names listed on them and the end of them show the 3 colors that are in the lead in a band going across. I probably will get the 24 set. Right now I have the 12 set. I don't have a sharpener that would fit these, but your video was helpful to see the other colors ❤.

@Rachel Henderson I didn't know about them either 😄. I happened to see them at Hobby Lobby and got them. But haven't seen them elsewhere. Could be that your set is their updated version. The barrels of your pencils are definitely prettier!

Do they erase? I have the Kohinoor Magic lead one and it has an eraser but does not really erase....

I have not tried to erase these, but I have not found any coloured pencils erases completely, especially if you press hard

I have had a half set of these pencils for at least 8 years by now. They are quite scratchy and hard. And , being triangular, they don't fit in any sharpener. At least, I have never found one. Maybe you will have better luck.

They fit in my Dahl sharpener and you can also buy a specific sharpener for them, would be better if they came with one though! They are hard but I find the blender helps but if you like a soft and smooshy pencil they would take a lot of getting used to
