To all the random haters, here is something I posted in reply to a comment in a thread below: (Some of you seriously want to create issues out of everything tbh)... Subhi did not giggle or teehee or point and go 'EWWWW'. He put on a blank face first, then a 'what do I do' face next. Pretty sure if he knew they were there he would not have even done that. It was just incredibly unexpected that is all. Also, he did not walk away embarrassed. He thought Dina might feel awkward talking about periods in his presence so he thought it best to give her some space. He has females in his family including his mother and a sister near his own age, and I'm pretty damn sure he is on very frank terms even about biological things like periods with them or maybe even his close female friends at least to the point of not tiptoeing around the word period or tampon. That does NOT mean he will assume every single female he comes across is totally fine with talking about periods in front of him.

For those who still think he was wrong (in which case I would seriously doubt your powers of deduction), Dina was the one who said "ummm... this is is awkward" in case you think Subhi over-reacted. He LITERALLY got a social cue from Dina that this wasn't exactly something she planned or was expecting, and reacted according to that cue. Ps. if I was Dina I would react the same way.

I just decided to give him the benefit of doubt because I do know that Subhi is a generally respectful guy without too much of a diva complex. I did not call you a hater at all. imaginemore _ it's not that they felt awkward with the tote bag because it is quite out there I wouldn't wear a bag that has genitalia on it vagina or penis, it's the fact that they were treating periods as a shocking 'wow' subject when it's not. it's totally natural and normal and they acted ki da funny about it. Dunno if Sid would be comfortable with his wife and another guy talking about periods. He had to think for both of them. O.K. guys, there's a difference between being ASHAMED and being EMBARASSED. I will personally never talk to a non-mahram man (or not even my dad actually) about my period or my private parts - not because there's anything to be ashamed of since Allah created us the way we are - but because I just simply don't want my private parts to pop up in the mind of anyone from the opposite gender. This is called Hayaa, this is what being Muslim is. Whether it's a Muslim man or a Muslimah, they both have Hayaa; they should have Hayaa. And talking to a male 'Alim/scholar about these subjects is something totally different and cannot be compared to talking to a non-mahram about these things.
