VE racks are very nice. The tubs are nice and thick, and what that means is that there has to be something in the tub to trap heat. While 1 paper towel layer is better than nothing, more heat would be trapped if you use "packing paper" which is available online, Amazon or at Home Depot or Lowes and similar. It is unprinted newspaper, and it holds heat very well underneath it. Do like 4+ layers of that, and you will notice the temperature holding better. Plus the rosies will go under it and love it. And it is less expensive than paper towels if you go by the square foot.

I actually do have the packing paper. I was going to use it, but I felt like paper towels would be softer for them😆 I may try the packing paper and see how it works for us. Thanks!!

I'm curious where you got them from that they had mites? A reputable breeder shouldn't be sending out an infected snake, so that's pretty sad to hear. Fingers crossed the girl coming my way is free of them!

Ask why you have snakes if you're scared of them not being rude or disrespectful they're very pretty and you're very good with them I just wandered

I'm definitely not scared of all snakes. I am just careful with the ones I am meeting for the 1st time. Also with the ones I know will bite. You could say I don't like being bit, and I try to avoid it when I can🙂

@NathansWildLife I have seen you on the rosy fb groups asking questions as well, and I think that's great! Absolutely get all the info you possibly can. I would honestly recommend at this point that you slow down a bit and own just 1 rosy first. It is a horrible idea to just jump into breeding a species you don't know much about or have never owned. I know that's the LAST thing anyone wants to hear, but the best way to learn about a species is to start small. That way you can learn as you go but on a small scale, so if anything should happen to go wrong or not work out like you'd hoped, it isn't devastating for you or the animals.
