Lovely video. I can only get a suit made now and then, so it’s super to see the options and mull it all over. Thanks for sharing these with us!

I am extremely loving my boating 6x1 db blazer. It was cut from Holland Sherry boating orange/navy cloth. I always enjoy it with my boater hat and a bow tie. I also have a few cutlengths , some Reid and Taylor, from the same merchant you got that houndstooth Reid and Taylor! I am SO GLAD he's selling those to discerning clients. Also, I REALLY wanted that navy blazer but someone else was faster. I'm jealous!

I’d also love Tom to do a video that is long (even just talking) about suit collections and how to build a wardrobe. I am 25 and own a few suits, but would love an expert like him offering guidance on which colours to get/avoid and in which order (even over a 10 year period for example) imagine giving advice for 1-2 suits per year which colours etc does he think in which order could be amazing Hopefully would be easy to film too!

extremely underrated channel especially the fabric videos. educational, fun to watch, subbed. if you could show all the fabrics up close (with camera focused longer on the cloth) that would be fabulous.

Great, informative and entertaining videos. Would appreciate a video focusing on pinstripes and chalk stripes fabrics for business suits. Thank you!

Another excellent story of the various cloths on order. Business is clearly brisk particularly over the pond. Thanks for the detailing of the maker info/model number info etc. It would be great in addition on every cloth sample to have a proper close up shot lasting a few seconds. Just helps to see what you are seeing. Keep the videos coming please.

I can attest to the quality of Reid & Taylor. A cloth merchant friend had a few bolts in stock. Pity I can't post the pictures.

Perhaps the Marylebone Cricket Club for the first fabric.

Mr. Mahon: What a privilege and a pleasure to watch you analysing and discussing those wonderful fabrics. Unfortunately, I do not believe I would be able to afford something like that; however, I do appreciate beauty and craftmanship. I particularly liked the Porter & Harding "Glorious 12". Another question: How was it possible that a manufacturer of such excellent clothes as Reid & Taylor went out of business? I read that the company/brand was purchased by an Indian millionaire in 1997 and it carried-on until 2020. Obviously, it was not the same. Thank you. Regards from Argentina.

Dear Sir, Thank you for watching and your kind comments. A coat in that cloth would be around £1250 using our suit copy service. Thank you for the update on R&T, I never knew what happened to the brand. My very best, Tom.

@@savilerowtales Thank you Mr. Mahon for your kind words. I do apologise for not replying immediately. Best wishes. Claudio PS: If I go to England, I shall visit you and order a jacket. The price you mentioned sounds very reasonable considering the quality of the cloth and your extraordinary skill. Regards

Yet another fantastic video, these videos are so good to watch as despite me not being able to purchase one yet, it allows me to think through the pros/cons of different cloths. Can you tell me the estimate pricing for the ready to wear? Even a rough guideline would be appreciated!

I just love and admire your fabrics. Do you sell any of your fabrics? If you do, what would be some of the prices be say by the meter?

We do have our own selection of house cloths for Redmayne customers to browse through, but as many people will ask to have a look at the selection of cloths from the British merchants - Holland & Sherry, Harrisons of Edinburgh, Huddersfield Fine Worsted, Dugdale Bros, Fox Brothers to name just a few. Some of these companies (such as HFW and Fox Brothers) disclose the cloth price per meter others ask you to get in touch directly. They can vary hugely in price.

Can someone explain to me what he means with the pile direction of the corduroy? it's not clear to me.. Does the same applies to velvet jackets or the opposite?
@savilerowtales5 ай бұрын
Correct, the pile can be found on velvet, cord and even flannels. Basically the weave stands proud and usually is woven to fall one way. Hence you get a different shade each way the cloth's cut. Thanks for watching. Best, Tom.

Where is that necktie from, if you do not mind me asking, Mr. Mahon please? I cannot find it in the Redmayne Silk Ties section on the website. Thank you. RF.

Only the MC would dare wear that first one. Having grown up in the 60s, I hated corduroy. My mom would always buy me corduroy pants and I hated wearing them. They were hot. They were uncomfortable and they were ugly.

Ive heard tailors say that the old cloth was better, why is this exactly, or would you not agree? Could it just be nostalgia, or was it better as the cloth market for suits was bigger & therefore more competitive in the old days?
