Can someone explain why Kpop groups have albums and more mini albums? They also have so many versions of the same album. It's really confusing and I want to buy my friend a Kpop album but I get so confused because I'm not actually a fan. How do you know which songs are on which albums when there are so many mini albums too.

misszully03 The main difference between mini and full albums is the amount of songs. You can have repackage albums too, which consist of maybe 1 or 2 previous mini's, with additional songs. The versions are usually different, for example, EXO-CBX albums (EXO sub unit with Baekhyun, Chen, and Xiumin) have 3 versions, mainly based around the member you receive, either C, B, or X, also with group photos too. ^ Wings (by BTS) have 4 versions, W, I, N, and G. Each is different, with different members. The only thing you should be aware of is the repackage albums, because, as I've said before, they will consist of songs you receive in others. Regardless of what you buy for your friend, don't worry about whether it's a mini or not, I'm sure they'll be thankful :)

Basically albums with different versions are ways of companies taking our money lmao sometimes,you don't know which version to get so you end up buying all versions (which is ridiculous,they all contain the same tracks,anyway) the difference about a variety of versions,though,is the cover of the album,the pictures on the photobook or the photocard that you get (sometimes,each member has two or more different photocards)

I wouldn't know about other groups but for BTS we have mini albums, albums versions, repackage albums. Mini Album- Usually with smaller amount of songs. BTS has 7 mini albums including -MOTS : Persona - LY : Tear - LY : Her - HYYH PT.2 - HYYH PT.1 - SKOOL LUV AFFAIR - O!RUL8,2? - 2 COOL 4 SKOOL Now we have the full albums. Which is albums with lots more songs. We have 3 albums. - DARK & WILD - WINGS - LY: Answer We also have repackage albums which is a past album that has been added songs or freebies. Repackage albums will have the same song as the previous album. Examples are - SKOOL LUV AFFAIR REPACKAGE EDITION - HYYH YOUNG FOREVER - WINGS YOU NEVER WALK ALONE I'm actually thinking of putting the LY : Answer album in here as well since it has the same song as the LY series. But that wouldn't do justice since it is clearly said to be a full album. 😊😊 Now. The part would be a bit difficult for most people to understand. So if you are thinking of buying just an album for the songs and such you can just buy the albums I've given above. For those who are buying for the photo albums, photocard and targeted freebies you can continue here. Diffent albums versions. Almost all albums has different version of themselves. The difference is that these versions has different pictures from each others. The songs and price is still the same. So, I'll give the versions for each albums. -HYYH PT.1 (Pink & Grey) -HYYH PT.2 (Blue & Peach) -HYYH FOREVER YOUNG (Day & Night) -WINGS ( W,I,N & G) -WINGS YOU NEVER WALK ALONE (Pink & Blue) -LY : Her (L,O,V & E) -LY : Tear (Y,O,U & R) -LY : Answer (S,E,L & F) -MOTS : Persona (1,2,3 & 4) These are the versions for each albums. Usually includes the songs, photo album, photo card and poster. The difference is the pictures for the photo album, photo card and the posters. So hard core fans and collectors will fight their way to get each of the versions.
