Pro tip, if the bike is upside down, both pedals tighten by turning the wrench toward the back tire, and loosen by turning toward the front tire

The easiest way for me to losen pedals is to fit a wrench on them, put them paralel to the ground, stand on them with my heel resting on top of the wrench and pushing down.

@lesliebarth80264 жыл бұрын
Lol NEVER smash your bearings in! What is wrong with some of the riders out there?! At least you used grease & the spindle spacer. Bearing presses are worth the investment.

hi Spencer! love your riding ( maxed out recovery stats). I don't know if you care but your bottom bracket bearing would probably last longer if you used some kind of bearing press rather than a hammer. Have a nice one!

BILLYSPROCKET88 Or a freaking scrap piece of plywood. Hammering in your BB bearings with a claw hammer is so Florida.

Use a nut and bolt with fender washers, it's cheap, easy, and doesn't damage the bearings or frame

I ride only Sunday Odyssey and Gsport parts now thanks to the awareness you're spreading and have had a pretty amazing past couple months since I got it not having to replace parts or work on my bike which can get embarrassing if you ride parts that constantly fail you and you become known as the dude who works on his bike at the park instead of someone who actually gets to ride. Thanks for giving solid unbiased opinions.
@SK8R436 жыл бұрын
why the hell would you ride g sport lmao. Odyssey 7ka rims are WAY stronger...
@MozillaRaptor6 жыл бұрын
Lol.. Never stated what products of theirs I was riding. I got uniguard hub guard from them on my bike and it's holding up rather nicely might I add, beyond that I have very little experience with their products outside of hub guards which they seem to do well. Also all those companies are owned and operated by the same people so you already know they have an awesome business model that serves the community as best as possible and you're given a standard of care and quality when you work with them.
@skippy86966 жыл бұрын
They're good brands obviously but I wouldn't want to restrict myself like that. When you start going around saying you *only* ride x, y and z you begin to sound kinda pretentious as well. I support different brands for different reasons. I like to support Colony because they're based in Australia and make super legit parts, I like Cult because I like what they're doing for BMX and just have a cool all-round aesthetic etc etc...
@MozillaRaptor6 жыл бұрын
I've just come to respect what they do in the BMX business world, I'm not obligated any more than anyone else is to ride anything just because I say that, I have no contractual obligation to anyone. I can always decide to do something else and there still stand to reason there is better things out there I just haven't seen it yet. I do know however they take very good care of their customers in my experience, and I'm not anyone important to appease. Also considering they have been around over 30 years, respected by anyone respectable in BMX and the fact that they spend so much time engineering quality products that they actually patent their products I think there is some proof in the pudding. It's sorta like why you see so many Toyota vehicles on the road, people know they can expect quality craftsmanship and reliability and people don't often want to compromise there. And beyond that, my parts are covered for life so given that, I will likely literally ride these brands forever, not that their exclusive but they have earned brand loyalty in my book.
@skippy86966 жыл бұрын
Well there's that and you also get what you pay for, especially for major components like forks and cranks. Odyssey might cost you a little more than some brands but you know you're getting something good that will last. Also look at the Soundwave frame, that's a bit dearer than your average frame but it's practically bomb-proof. Paying a bit more doesn't always guarantee quality but it's often a good indicator. I find Colony price their stuff either on par or slightly more affordable than other brands but I've never been let down by them. Offering good value and delivering on what customers want is something I appreciate too.

Best way I've ever found for pedals is sit on the seat (like normal).. have one crank forward with your foot on the pedal, put tool on so handle is pointing up at the bars and pull up/ back to remove pedal.. then rotate cranks and do the same with the other crank forward foot on the pedal, pulling tool toward the back/ up ✌️

The stem tightens to the fork Andries not move on he for so no need in greasing. If it moved on the fork then you would. The reason for greasing is to reduce friction allowing it to move easily and not damage the metal
