Right on! Another old, or mid school rider. What era did you ride? I started riding when I was just a wee lad, but when I was 12 I got my first BMX bike (Diamondback Viper) that had straight tubes Unlike the old Schwinn Stingray frames. Back then the wheely, & bunny hop were a big deal, and then Freestyle started up which was the early 80s. 👍🏼😉🤘🏼 I remember practicing tricks listening to Michael Jackson's "Thriller", Twisted Sister "We're not gonna take it", Van Halen "Jump", Duran Duran "Reflex", Herbie Hancock "Rockit", Motley Crue "She's Got Looks That Kill", and a whole lot of 80s music.

Agree with obb, flange less grips in versed is always better, it helps roll for tables but won’t allow your hand slide to the bar. Also, if you catch bars awkward, it doesn’t feel weird with a flange
