A very late upload of my November Fairyloot unboxings of the adult, romantasy and one-off special edition of the Familiar by Leigh Barugo. I actually filmed this in November but I've been having some problems with my laptop, which is stuggling to run my editing software now. Been able to bulk edit on a PC so I'll not have any issues now until January.
As always the Fairyloot Adult box, Fortunes Found, did not disappoint. Great pick and beautiful endpapers, and the redesigned covers were a lovely surprise. I can't say the same about Hearts Ablaze, the Fairyloot Romantasy box for November.

Fire in the Sky is messy. It is almost all given away in the blurb and you can guess the rest. I got this edition too and love that hardback but am not a fan of the dust jacket either, which is a bummer because that artist is one of my favorite.

Missed your videos!! I love the teller of small fortunes edition 😍 I just love seeing these videos because getting to see the end paper art makes me want to read the book, and then when I read it I reference the special art to help visualize it better 😊

I agree! I loved The Teller of Small Fortunes edition so much i had to buy it of vinted since I’m still on Fairyloot’s waitlist 😂 could not tell you what my favorite part of it was, not because it was all jaw dropping gorgeous, but because the cohesiveness was just soooo good that I think it elevated everything else!

i am SO HAPPY i got small fortunes off a friend cause it is SO PRETTY!!! i love it!!!! Currently reading best hex ever (afterlight) which is a stunning edition too that im really enjoying, but i cant wait for y aurora crate books. Keen for new tiffany roberts!

the teller of small fortunes: I wasn’t interested in the book but got it for my book bestie and we both agreed it is an absolutely stunning version through and through. 😍 a fire in the sky: agree with you, the hardback and endpapers look great but not a fan of the cover. the familiar: really like the overall goth theme and have to agree, a darker hardback color would’ve suited the overall theme better.

I loved the edition of the teller of small fortunes as well, it is beautiful, im looking forward to reading it. I also got my email through to join the Romantasy sub but i let it pass, after careful consideration and discussing with you in one of your previous videos. I love a romantasy but fairyloots picks just havent been for me and if there are any i particularly love, i can buy secondhand providing they arent a ridiculous reseller price. Lol. But ive loved almost all of the adult ones so im happy with that sub alone from fairyloot. I also have another sub from the butterfly book club, it is a fantasy one but exclusively indie authors so im enjoying that one so far as well and some really nice editions. Glad to see you back as well. 😊

Proud of you for letting the romantasy sub go! The adult subscription is definitely more than enough and gives the same quality. I've never heard of the butterfly book club, will have a look into it :)

I clung on for the December Romantasy and bloody hell I was not disappointed at all although I will say I reversed the jacket and that’s all I will say. I am going to see what January might be but I have a feeling I am going to leave x

That is a gorgeous edition of The Familiar. I pre-ordered it through Barnes and Noble to get the black sprayed edges edition and was really excited for it to be released. The name of the book and cover, I imagined something very witchy but it wasn't what I had expected when I read it. I loved Six of Crows, so my expectations were very high. I will leave it at that and not get into any details. Thank you for sharing your book unboxings!

For the sticky stuff u can take a Clorox wipe or and alcohol wipe and it should come off. Love your videos

Fire in the Sky is the first time I’ve immediately reversed the dust jacket for the trad cover. Usually if I’m not crazy about it I’ll still leave it, but I didn’t like it so much I reversed it. Also UnDu removes sticky adhesive. You can find it at craft stores.

Alcohol wipe or isopropyl on a q tip and gently wipe to remove any sticky residue on books 😊

You can get the sticky glue by using gentle clear micelar water on Cotten pad it will lift of off. Not the ones that have two parts mixing though (oil and water). The ones that will work look like they are just water like e.g. bioderma.

Thanks for sharing! The first book looks like it'd be up my alley. I am almost positive I already have it on hold at the library, but I'll have to double check. I have 3 suggestions for the sticky residue. I'm in the US, so not sure if you'll have this available but I swear by Goo Gone. It's an orange colored thick liquid that removes anything sticky. For a dust jacket where the goal is to remove just the glue residue, I'd put some on either paper towel, or a lint free towel and rub until it's gone. Don't let the Goo Gone sink into the paper, but I've never really had any issues with it staining as long as you don't douse it with it. #2: Find another sticker and use it to dab, dab, dab at the residue. Sounds weird, but it'll pick up the remaining glue. Just don't fully put it down. This one I usually use the sticker I've just removed that left the residue, but any would do. Should be more sticky than a post-it note, though. #3, try using a hairdryer to warm the glue up. See if you can get if off after that. This one I usually use while the sticker is still on as it makes it super easy to remove a stubborn sticker.

A Fire In the Sky was a bit like From Blood and Ash with dragons to me! It was a super quick read and I ended up reading it in a day! Although I am a Romantasy girlie for sure! Small Fortunes was also amazing and super cute and cosy, a really feel good read! Loved both of Fairyloot’s books here!

I actually love the dust jacket of the dragon book. It's one of my favorite redesigns ever. I'm not particularly interested in the book itself, however.

i love my copy of Teller of small fortunes, the story itself is so warm and cosy. I got The Familiar but I got my copy from Illumicrate, I'm not the biggest fan of the artists style that did the FL endpapers.

For getting any kind of glue off, I use makeup remover wipe. The one for sensitive skin. It always works for me for every residue. I absolutely hated the romantasy redesign, As for the dragons, there is one nice twist compared to other dragon books. I actually enjoyed the book, wasn't expecting much just a very cliche troped book to read in an eve and it delivered that, the ending got me to want to read book two though XD

Try tapping it with the sticky side of masking tape. I liked the familiar but I haven't read any of her other books And I wanted to read about the inquisition. I like the color of small fortunes.However, I felt like the foiling was overdone on the end papers.I felt it distracted from the tree and the clouds.
