Thank you for the overview! I just got my v600. When I try to download SilverFast SE 9 on my Macbook Air M2, for some reason it just loads and nothing happens. Anyone facing a similar issue?

Strange issue. Don’t know why that would happen. I installed it for many people on macs, imacs and macbooks and it always goes just like in my video. Hope you solve your issue and please let us know incase others come to this problem.

@@grainificent managed to download the installer hours later. But now when I run the installer I get an error message “cannot connect to remote LaserSoft Imaging update service”. I have contacted SilverFast support. Will revert back if I manage to sort it out.

@@grainificent Ok to SilverFast came back to me with a URL to download the installer. It didn't work. I then changed my internet connection to another wifi and everything worked perfectly. It seems my router/wifi was the issue, despite it being a "normal" router that I use for everything.

Owning the V850 scanner, I find it interesting to see that the film negative holders for the V600 don't have and might not require adjustable height feet which the holders of my V850 have. Reason with the V850 scanner is that the focus point for scanning sits a few mm above the glass surface which can also vary from V850 model to model. Is the V600 focus point exactly at the height of the negative within the [non-adjustable] holders? If so, this would be a plus of the older V600 compared to newer Epson V-scanner models.

I actually had to double check my holders for any adjustments 🤣 but nope, there arent any. I will have to read into that online if there arent any improvements needed for better scans but for now they all come out amazing! 😃

thank you! depends if you have chosen the proper film from the list and also what type of film you used. Many times a tungsten balanced film can come out very blue when used in regular daylight. You can also scan it as a tiff file and try to edit it in photo editing software :)

I downloaded the application, which is very large, and tried it out. I concluded that the process is relatively complex (to scann the images) or maybe the problem is simply myself, but I ended up verifying that the software that comes with the EPSON scanner itself is compatible with my goal of scanning old images.

logistical issue - how do you locate the saved files on your computer? I cannot find them

when you have the scanning window open where you have the previews and all the settings, you can see the file path and choose another yourself in the top left part of the options :)

it is shown at 05:00 how to download everything :) i never tried scanning outside of silverfast so i don't know if you really need it. but it is very helpful to have. i was showing it on my Macbook Air M1 :)

Would it work for scanning comic books? They arent very thick but i want to be sure the lid doesnt lay on a slant

technically the lid can raise itself so it lays flat on a book. i don't see any problem in scanning comic books or even thicker books.

So does the scanner do medium format negatives and slides as well as 35mm slides and negatives?

yes it does. both slides and negatives. all formats up to medium format. although i do scan large format on it and so it is possible as well. i will make a video about that and also a video comparing scanning and photographing with a camera and phone :)

Hi there. Did the USB/USBC adapter come with your v600? Mine did not

No it did not, i have an old usb-usbc adapter that came with samsung phones a few years ago 🤣 but they are cheap to get. You can also buy a whole usbc cable for the scanner but thats more expensive - but a great option because on my m1 macbook air the adapter is too wide and prevents the second port from being able to use it.

How do i make the negatives stay as negatives?? Please help. My scanner auto converts them

In the options panel on the top left you can choose between negatives and transparency. If you want it to stay as a negative then choose transparency scanning :)

i keep getting a error everyime i try and hit scan, it starts loading then error on the scanner and on the software

My epson scan app was working fine, now all of a sudden it refuses to open. What happened?

i never had that happen. but what i would do: shut down the computer/laptop (not restart - SHUT DOWN) and turn on after 10 sekonds. if problem is still there, on mac i would uninstall and reinstall the program. on windows i would try to run the app as administrator before doing the same. Hope this helps. please come back and share your experience when you do get it fixed.
