I got the Shadowcast 2 yesterday and I streamed with it today, and so far I'm liking it. I like that all of the ports are on the back of the unit, and you don't have to use the USB that's provided with the unit. I'm using a USB 2.0 cord, and it works fine. I may not receive the highest quality video, but I'm fine with what I have.

Heard about this recently, but glad to see it more in depth than just a web article. Definitely gonna be grabbing this stuff, recently got a laptop for my birthday a few weeks back, so been looking to start streaming switch stuff.

We just started testing them out but so far so good I'll mention pros and cons in the next HAULED episode :D I will say, the ShadowCast 2 Pro is performing better than my elgato HD60x but I'll use it on stream to test it further!

haha those are 2 recent pickups i'm super happy with! the chucky is from Just Play 2017 and the Mojo Jojo is from Beast Kingdom DAH-052! Both are sadly very top-heavy though lol

Got mine from the kickstarter and its defective. been trying to get support or ask for a replacement but they seem to be having a hard time understanding or admitting I have a defect. replaced it with a Elgato HD60 S I got for $50 a third of the Shadowcast 2 Pro cost and same setup and wiring and it works fine.

@@itcamefromabox it's definitely hardware. Elgato HD60 S LITERALLY has the same ports you plug everything in as the damn SC2 Pro and with the elgato I see my console on the passthrough monitor. I've been making a fuss about this on their kickstater page but they are not accepting that it's defective. Expected better from a company that has multiple project already.

@@itcamefromabox for some reason they are treating this as if there device is different from other capture card. They've been silent after I send I don't want to replacement and demanded a refund and have explained to them "Tell me if a device doesn't work and you replace that device and connect the same wires to the replacement and it works what is the conclusion?" Conclusion is the gave me defective device with hardware problems right?

I already have a shadow cast and 2 docks, I just hope it gets released soon so I can purchase them. I hope the shadow cast 2 is stronger than the original. I can’t exactly streamer do anything aside from play the game on my computer screen

Performance has been great on it so far but if you have other consoles or if you're looking to use it with the next Switch (2, Pro, or w.e) i'd prob consider the ShadowCast 2 Pro instead!

I need to buy a good capture card and shadowcast for my Nintendo Switch because I wan't stream with Switch too, it's easy to streaming in Twitch and KZbin on Ps5, Pc and Xbox Series S than Nintendo Switch because on Nintendo Switch you NEED a capture card to streaming it. It came from a box that video was so good and helpful thank you. 📦

Glad to hear Leo :D Appreciate you watching and if you're looking to start streaming with just the Switch, i'd recommend starting with the ShadowCast :D If you're gonna use all your consoles, then the ShadowCast 2 Pro is a much better option!

Awesome products but the customer service is awful so far... I ordered a normal shadow cast 2 weeks ago and have gotten 0 responses to calls or emails sadly. Really want the product because I work 16 hrs a day typically and would love to play my ps5 on my MacBooks screen

Can’t believe nobody is talking about the USB 2.0 port. Kinda scummy for them to make it blue when it’s only 2.0, when the first dock has 3.0. For the Switch, of course it doesn’t matter since it only supports USB 2.0 anyway. But the whole point of the 2nd generation is to be more versatile, and the lack of USB 3.0 is a huge deal for me. Not cool of them leaving that downgrade out of the marketing material. I’m guessing it has something to do with limitations of USB C Alt Mode having 4K60 and USB 3 at the same time, but it would have been nice if they were at least clear about it.

@@itcamefromabox That's an actual load of crap. Orange USB ports have never meant "no data". They've always just meant that the port supports higher power output than a standard port. And blue ports have always signified at least USB 3.0. If that was their actual response, then I'm a bit reluctant to buy any more of their products.

@@itcamefromabox To be fair, it is still really impressive that they got it to 45W without increasing the size, and I’ll probably end up getting one since the first version can’t charge my laptop. It’s just a bummer that the V2 is worse than the V1 in any situation where data transfer speed is important, and it seems like they’re being a bit sneaky about it. Also, it’ll be obsolete if the Switch successor supports USB 3 speeds.

@@agentice9703 trust me, i appreciate your opinion but if you look on youtube, a lot channels never mention that they receive product for free or whether they're getting paid to make a video on it. i get the quid pro quo, but i mention the disclosure so you know that going in. hopefully you trust that based on my other content, I'm sharing it because it's a cool or unique piece of tech/gear that you should look into. if you look at the clues, you'll find that i actually take a hit on these kind of videos, so it's not a strategic move on my end.
