The bat-wing item on the right-hand side of the image at 35:38 (above the top of the red Excelsior saucer) is a model of the Peacemaker drone from DEAL OF THE CENTURY, a 1983 film for which Greg Jein built the models. The front of the model is on the right- it had forward-swept wings.

The "turbo scoop ship" at 35:38 is a cast of the Batskiboat from BATMAN RETURNS.

The casts of the Ceti Eel at 37:27 are probably from either the mold for the MOTHER of the eel put into Chekhov's ear, or the other Ceti Eel in the same tank in THE WRATH OF KHAN. Watching the scene again, I believe this mother eel was built LARGER than life-size, for the purpose of making it easier to put the effects mechanisms that make it move and react in place inside the original model. The scene is shot so that you never see the actors or the detailed eel in the same shot, so it could have been built larger than life. (They did something similar later in the same scene, when they built a MUCH larger-than-life version of Walter Koenig ear for the scene where the baby eel crawls into Chekhov's ear.)

17:15 appears to be the thing Kirk is trying to enter the Captain's log into in Star Trek 5 that malfunctions. It was being held by an ensign played by Shatner's daughter.

The 'tricorder' looks like a combo walkie talkie/scanner that I designed in the early mod 80s and junked it when a friend said it looked too Logans Run which were also com and scan devices.

The 3-4 inch Enterprise-D is from Galoob. They were the first licensee for Star Trek TNG toys.

Mind-boggling. I see many books to come... Nilos worked briefly at Peter Wallach Enterprises (yep, Eli's son!) and left for the Coast in mid 1988 (I think, maybe 89). Wallach did some second or third unit special effects for Ferran & Assoc. He was based in downtown Manhattan but rented a space out in New Jersey, where they shot some MOCO of the original ILM Enterprise A and Bird of Prey! This was during Trek V, Shatner even visited the Jersey facility! They had set up a portable optical disk editing facility (Avid?) to throw together dailies in rough cuts for visual effects. Big messy pile of transport boxes and a rather cocky operator! That's what Shatner was there to see. I believe on one day.

I thought I saw a 10 inch version of the Firefox jet from the Clint Eastwood movie. Did he work on that? Also wonder what happened to the Dark Star model from the John Carpenter movie? Also hear he worked on 'Flesh' Gordon.

It’s kind of crazy isn’t it? Going through these kind of things, now I know what the guys who do “The Curse of Oak Island” feel like just trying to come up with a clear way to connect the dots.
