What a great choice. You've got to love Hamiltons, Swiss ETA movements, superb case finishing, great design and attention to detail all at a reasonable price.

The watch in this video does not have H-40. The watch in this video has ETA 2834-2. Hamilton was originally selling this model with 2834, then they switched to H-40. So this watch in the video has a higher beat rate (28800) and standard power reserve (38 hours). If you get this watch with H-40, you will have beat rate 21600 and power reserve 80 hours. Also, 2834 is easier to regulate, as it has the very common adjustment mechanism. Some people prefer one movement to the other, I am simply providing this info for the sake of accuracy, for anyone who cares.

Hi Rick. Thank you for your comment. The information in this video has been taken from Hamilton's website, but as I understood, this particular watch is an older model / variation. Is that what you are saying?

@@TickingMad Yes, ETA movements on earlier examples, H-40 movements on current examples. This subject is discussed on watch forums, and at least a couple of watch reviewers here on KZbin covered this. I have this watch on a stainless steel bracelet, and mine is fitted with H-40. Hamilton website is proving information on current products, so yes, website info is about H-40, with a nice picture of the movement. In fact, if you look at the Hamilton website picture of the movement, you can see the "traditional" regulation mechanism is missing. That's the easiest way do spot these modified 80-hour power reserve movements. I believe beside Hamilton, Tissot and Certina are using these 80-hour movements (they call it Powermatic 80), because these watch companies are all part of the same parent group - Swatch Group.

Excellent info, Rick, thanks for sharing! Out of interest: how did you know that this particular watch in the video has an "older" movement? ;-)

@@TickingMad When you show the back of the watch, you can see the adjustment mechanism, next to balance wheel. Modified movements with extended power reserve don't have it. Also, your watch is marked 2834 on the back.

Just to say that the H movement is laser adjusted, i have the Murph watch from interstellar (H10 movement), received it yesterday, set it yesterday morning and now 36 hours later i have less than a second deviation. I haven’t put the watch on the timegrapher yet but i can say it’s my most accurate non quartz watch so far, i’m really impressed. So you can’t regulate it easily but they did a wonderful job already.

Beautiful watch. Where did you find the strap version? I can only see bracelet versions all around
@TickingMad3 жыл бұрын
Hi. It's Hamilton's standard strap for this watch. You should be able to get it from any Hamilton dealer. And it's slightly cheaper than the bracelet version...
